🔶 7HZ Timeless Planar

The flat sound of the timeless is actually an advantage. Metal and especially video games sound so enjoyable on them.

Thank you…It works great with those tubes and the Timeless = a Mini Z1R for -:moneybag::+1:

Folks say no soundstage?..they scale well running Timeless with MT-604 with Siemen’s tubes and those drums @circa 19 secs are…yes way, way out there left :+1:

Anyone else tried these without the grills and foam?
My 2nd pair has dispatched so I can do a comparison but wondered if others had tried it.

I am guessing the tube & timeless combo is working well.

I have been thinking this might be the time to start thinking about a tube amp, this hobby just finds new ways to take your money.

Havent tried that but just did some measurement with vents covered with a sticky tape.
Red is uncovered, green is all 3 covered.

Pretty interesting, and might prove useful as i do find them sometimes to have too much bass for my taste. Doesnt look that it affects the rest of the FR, though my measuring rig isnt perfect, YET :).
Will try at a later point what changes would covering 1 or 2 holes have.

Since you like your bass, this one goes to you  . Covering the single vent near the nozzle will give you a nice bass boost.

Edit: And burst your eardrums while your trying to put the iems in :), no way for the air to escape it seems. Just tried it in my ears, and its unusable this way for me… Maybe with foams…

Use micropore tape?

Could work with micropore, maybe with bit lesser boost as a result.
Though dont have such thing at my disposal to compare. Should order some.
Do you know any good one on aliexpress?

Just search micropore on AE, several sellers turn up. I’d get the 3M brand.

On your earlier comment about too much bass at times…could that just be midbass bleed? I EQ 150hz -3dB Q1.414

Its more related to some tracks i have that are poorly recorded and have some bass bloat. Less bass gives them more clarity. But then its great in other tracks, so basically it comes to what im ready to sacrifice. At times i use -1 to -2db from 60-250Hz, starting with -2 and ending with -1db or -0.5 at 250Hz.

No problem putting them in the ears with micropore. I’m using the stock yellow white tip. Bass appears to have gone up but this needs to be measured.

Good to know.
Will do the measurement, but it wont be anytime soon. Maybe if i find that tape locally could do it sooner rather than later.
