Most of the ones that have broken Iām afraid he treated them like a baby. But this is chi-fi, enjoy today, tomorrow it might not work anymore.
That is precisely why, my friend. Several users who bought them in September/October no longer work. Those iems are already 5-6 months old. Thatās why I say in the best case scenario.
Itās not fake news, the web, forums and YouTube is full of failures of this headset like no other Iāve seen in this price range. You enjoy them now.

And how does this become the best case? There are a lot of users (see comments above) who have a 5-6 months old timeless, that is still working. Wouldnāt that be the best case? And wouldnāt that best case a year from now be even better, when they are still working?
Itās like saying a week after a new product released āthere are some users reporting defects within the first week, so the best case is that this product will work only for a weekā. Flawed logic.
Totally agree with this if it aināt broke then it probably wonāt.

Which still stands. āA lot of reports about defectsā is a bad metric. The only reasonable assumption you can make from those reports is, that there may be higher defect rate than usual. What is a typical failure rate? 2%? What is an increased failure rate? 5%? 10%? You claim it is 100% at 6 months 
I read a lot about the reports about QC before I bought my timeless. When I recommended it to others, I did add the notion, that there are many QC issues reported. I am fully aware of all those reports that you listed. But your claims of 100% failure rate are ridiculousā¦ and your inability to see that is your loss, because it is obvious to anyone elseā¦

I just did a balance test by listening to Spotify in mono, not a very technical test lol but all sounds were level and dead centre, thatās good enough for me.

Iāve probably watched the first 3 Youtube videos (not gonna watch them again) and I canāt recall any of their sets breaking 
the fourth shock jock video well lets not get me started on thatā¦Yes folks have experienced problems with that set as well as other sets like Mele, Olina, Starfield etc but I wouldnāt call Timeless any worse.

My sonās Dusk broke in 3 months so it happens. This is mcx so for pete sakes leave the cables on or switch once. I realize you can do it many times and be fine but why bother. Yes on my two pins I regularly remove cables mcx nope .If it did break I would buy an S 12 . I agree with what Crinnacle said on iems btw. Oh and by the way itās better than my Blessing 2 ! ( for my ears and library).

This right here. MMCX connectors werenāt designed with audio in mind and I really donāt think itās a good idea to keep changing them all the time. I ended up with the stock cable because I use more SE sources than balanced ones.
Timeless going strong since December, no issues so far. Itās sad to hear about the QC issues and we should held 7Hz accountable. But I donāt think this should be an excuse to rain in other peopleās parades, at least IMO.

I have said that it is a headset that fails and that it can fail that you enjoy it now. I have not said that it fails, simply that since it has 6 months to live and so many reports, it is likely that they will continue to be seen.
I repeat, itās not my fault that you read things you donāt want to read and 7hz has a bad QC.
Unfortunately, there are IEMs with bad hardware. When the hardware is bad, quality control canāt help. There are just drivers that break down quickly. That is all! I donāt know if itās Timeless of them, I donāt own them. 
Do you even know yourself what you are saying? If you say it has only 6 months to live, you do say it will fail. You contradict yourself in the same sentence. Maybe not only your logic is flawed but also your language capabilities?

Just to be precise in that matter: nymz and I didnāt speak about timeless QC: we were speaking about the moondrop QC problems on aria and starfield.
I read some QC issues on timeless in this very thread, yes, but nothing as widespread as the moondrop thing.

Moondropās problems are more systemic, spanned different models and was a significant percentage of units shipped. Add to that, that they wonāt stand behind their own warranty. Ariaās failure was mounting the cable connectors, and that randomly that glue got used to seal the case, making it harder to open to repair it. The 3-6 month point was when Moondrop Arias were shorting out for tons of people, and Moondrop was doing everything to ignore the issue. The Aria thread from month 4-6 is basically nothing but broken units, and if you posted on that thread, there is a 20% chance that your Aria shorted out before Christmas.
7Hz fixed and replaced the bad units from what I could tell, and I havenāt seen a rash of broken units at this point, and most of the early folks are in that 4-6 month span. The Timeless is the only IEM on my desk, and one of my favorites.
All companies have issues at some point, it really comes down to how they handle them. When the Tripowin Mele filter had over gluing problems it got resolved by communicating to people, and being open about it. It was the mature way to handle it. On the other hand, KZ is being silent about not connecting the crossovers on some drivers for some of their budget sets recently. My guess is that when you couple that with KZās history, most people are just going to be done with them.
7Hz seems to be addressing the issues that come up, but they havenāt been that unusual. If anything the Timeless was probably more successful that they expected, and they had to adjust to that.

What a load of tosh, who created that chart?, Dave the honest audiophile knows his stuff, and one of very few reviewers that I really value there opinion.

On the other hand I sometimes wonder if there are faulty units floating around, which lead to negative reviews.

I own the Timeless and the i3 Pro. The i3 is the least favourite of the IEMs I have. In fact, this set I hardly use. Whereas the Timeless is on my rotation.

When I saw Daveās review I was guessing his unit was bad, since I already had mine for a while at that point, and was really enjoying it, and couldnāt quite get his review to line up with the IEM I was listening to. If you were sensitive to that 8k peak, I could see that being an issue, but most people that have problems are somewhere in the 4-6k range.
I donāt know anything about the I3, but the two IEMs I keep on my desk are the Timeless and Olina.
