Timelessās tuners final filter solution ā¦
If you are a timeless owner, try listening to some of the songs in this mix. The timeless can play them so well.
Any owner notice that the Timeless is really forgiving on the source? My laptop audio jack has some EMI that I can hear on ZS7/SE215/Samsung AKG buds from my momās phone/random cheap in-ear I borrowed but when I plug the Timeless in its perfectly clean with nary a hiss/click/buzz to be heard. Itās almost magic just how clean the audio that goes into these ends up sounding regardless of source
Decided against the Tea and went for the Timeless at $202. Just got to wait for delivery now. Patienceā¦Patienceā¦Patienceā¦
Thatās what a planar driver can give you.
It also doesnāt need any power to be fairly loud. Last night I was running it on a $10 USB-C to 3.5mm adapter, with 2.5mm balanced to 3.5mm adapter as well, and it was doing just fine on volume.
I usually have it on a BTR5 for the Bluetooth features, but I had assumed that I needed some power ābecause it was a magnetic planarā, nope not really.
Iām stuck waiting as well. My original order was with drop but their ship date was something insane so I figured I would snag them on 11/11 and try to get some bonus linsoul goodies. So I may be getting them like 2 months after my initial decision to buy them lol.
Totally my bag. Worth it because I get the 2.5mm balanced for $202 instead of $224, so I can buy a Tripowin cable. Got loads , but no MMCX versions.
Got mine yesterday. Pretty quick delivery, ordered from Linsoul on 10/27 so it took exactly two weeks, 9 days faster than estimated delivery time so Iām pleased, even though I see now that I wouldāve saved like 15 bucks if Iād ordered during 11.11.
Bought it partly because Iāve never heard planar before, and I thought from the descriptions and graphs that it would be a good counterpart to the Meles, which has been my dailies for the past few months. Meles are outstanding especially for the price for most of my library (particularly the rock, rap, pop and jazz parts) but was occasionally flawed for classical music - the bass rumble was occasionally a little distracting for some big orchestral works, particularly when a lot of classical composers write boring or repetitive parts for their lower instruments, and the spotlight the Meles put on the lowest registers arenāt always flattering to the works.
So far, from a dayās worth of listening, it does seem like a perfect complement to the Meles for my library. The overlap is substantial - I think both sets play a lot of my library very well and very enjoyably.
As I had hoped, so far, the Timeless plays big complex orchestral music with a lot of stuff going on very well. Extremely detailed, good instrumental timbre, very well balanced.
The Timeless also handles most of my pop/rock/rap library very well too, actually a lot better than I expected. They donāt have as much slam but they they have a substantial amount, except that they are a little lacking for some rap and rap/pop of the 2000s that use a lot of low 808 rumbles in the mix. Feels like the Timeless rolls off just before some of the lowest 808s that are popular with the post-Neptunes producers that love low thrum as the foundation for their beats. Fine for old school hip hop though, and fine for a lot of recent rap and pop, just not all.
Finally
My unit has the white filters and the plastic boxes for the tips. I donāt know if it is the āfirstā or āsecondā revision.
Iām at workā¦ but Iām listening to a few songs from my test library.
Very early first impressions (blue tips with yellow inner bore):
I will try to do some burn in too as some people advice, and then after few days of listening Iāll post more detailed impressions.
Thatās the latest 2nd gen filter.
Best basstips for Timeless ? Go !
I think the richest bass I have had on it was with the Spinfit CP240, but not everyone is up for the double flange.
So far I have found the these are my favorites and they have good bass
I have a pair Spinfit CP240s , but its totally useless for me. How deep ear canal you have ?
Second this. But I can only tolerate them for a short time.
The final E doesnāt really do that for me. Itās like the material is too thin. Cp100+/100/145 all do great stuff with bass and have great comfort as well.
Gonna try the final E again on the timeless. That is just a hit or miss tip for me.
Donāt be afraid to give them a sub-bass boost
i agree to this too. For my ears this has the best overall but not the best seal. I found for my ears, the best seal is Spiral Dotsā¦ but the tip stem is shorter than Spinfits. Foam tips like Dekoni has good seal but the foam expansion hurts my inner ear. The best foam thatās kind to my ears is the Comply Comfort tips, but they gunk up and tear up very easy.
Apart from the SpinFit CP100 - are there any eartips on Linsoul that are worth checking out for the Timeless? (Making an orderā¦)
