So, I’ve come to a point in my life since I first got into this chase of the better sound that the hunt began with headphones. I started with v moda m100 then ath m40x thennnn tr60p,
th900 mk2, Neumann NDH 20 and its been a fun ride. Then for gym and work purposes I needed something less bulky so I was introduced to the IEM world.
My first IEM was the bgvp dm6 right before the hype train came into town, I enjoyed them but felt I wanted to more. One day I walked into an event in NYC called can jam by random and saw all the equipment and iems there and lost my Sh!t when I heard the u12t (which I now own btw) it was world’s apart for what I had and never knew Iems can get so good almost as good and some better than headphones.
Here I am now owning more IEMs than headphones and I got used to them over HPs because of easier portability. I’m sorry for the long body of blah blah but I’m so surprised at myself but overall I do enjoy owning new gear that makes me wanna hear my music collection all over again with a different sound signature and that’s what it’s about for me, the sound of the music. If you made it all the way down here then thank you for reading and I would like to know if you switched or have made it to where you have a nice balance between IEM and HP.
I am more headphone tilted at the moment, but it’s great that you have figured out what works for you and what you like Also it’s easier to store iems, so you can have more lol. I would get more iems, but I am very content with what I have now iem wise, and really don’t currently feel the need to upgrade
Don’t get me wrong I love the headphone experience especially the aeolus which I want to own one day but i feel the iem game is constantly evolving and improving at a much quicker rate than headphones that I’m finding it hard to believe it myself. With the right setup anything can make music sound great imo
I have never heard of an m shaped iem. Do you mean w shaped?
I mean, I would much rather take my hyla ce-5’s over the stellia, but I don’t think I have had enough experience with higher end iems to give any true recommendations.
