AFUL Explorer 1DD+2BA Hybrid In-Ear Monitors

how is the treble extension and the vocals on odyssey? Just recently found out that I actually do enjoy well extended and forward trebles and I enjoy vocal forward with decent thump.

As a big Explorer fan, the Arcadia wowed me. When it came out, my initial impression was it was the love child of Explorer and Doscinco ( which was my favorite set 6 months ago ). At times it gives me a Tea2 with some of the treble ( 4-8k ) turned down a little. Arcadia also has very fair price at $200.

Vocals are wonderful to me, nothing to complain about there! Treble is well extended to my ears (caveat that I hear out to ~15.5khz at normal listening volume, 17khz with serious gain) but I wouldn’t call it forward or recessed. It’s not for Trebleheads but has enough shimmer to me without ever getting unnatural or standing out in the mix. If you want more treble emphasis and forward female vocals, I think that Estrella would be a better pick from Ziigaat (and there are other IEMs out there as well). Odyssey excels at being what I would call “Neutral Plus”, in other words well balanced with just a hint of extra excitement on both ends.

AFUL Explorer. I’ve been listening to this set today!

It’s smooth, warm, and yet incisive, with a mid bass tilt and refined midrange. Not the most spacious, but also not intimate, with peek a boo style treble, that’s more on a lower treble focus than upper treble or air, but this set is not stuffy. This is one that’s musical, bordering on lush, and one of the first meta tuned sets that really caught fire with the community, after the success of the HiSenior Mega5EST. Shell is so tiny (it’s a 1DD + 2BA hybrid) and so extremely comfortable, you forget these are in your ears. Not to mention the shells are gorgeous as hell, and in my opinion, the best looking AFUL shells of all-time (some will fight for the Cantor Starry Night, and for good reason, but that design has been copied quite a few times, including recently with the Noble Van Gogh).

Been really enjoying this set listening to some chill jazz, and the synergy is through the roof good.

AFUL Explorer with the stock cable (not a good colorway match, but included to show you that it’s still a great stock cable, so added value to the package)

It’s also currently on sale on Amazon!! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D5BBK52C

$99.00!! That’s a bit of a steal, for the performance, the accessories, and the meta tuning. Looks like it’s only on sale until the 17th?!
