I need something like the Arcam rPlay or Yamaha WXAD10 to connect to my amp to stream music to it wirelessly.
I’ve owned the rPlay and I can’t tell you how much I hate it. It’s a well built device, but all the software functionality is atrocious and makes me want to scream.
I’m not sold on the Yamaha WXAD10 as all their equipment that I’ve tried from them has left me feeling unimpressed.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
I just received a Bluesound Node 2i and I’m very happy with it so far. It’s streams pretty much everything, and supports AirPlay 2. It’s a pretty good dac (Burr Brown/TI) and it decodes MQA.
You’re not the first person to mention that, so it’s definitely on the list.
Any comments on the sound?
I’m listening through Audeze LCD-X powered by a Rupert Neve RNHP amplifier and it sounds really good. I would summarize as a neutral sound. The MQA files sound pretty amazing. The Bluesound App is pretty easy to navigate.
Overall I really enjoy the sound. I’m content enough that I don’t feel an urgency to upgrade the dac. I can wait till some of my first choice dac manufacturers support MQA (Benchmark, SPL, RME).
