This, too. From Handel. Unreal.
@dcofficehack Nice! You might enjoy Tine Thing Helseth doing Mariettas Lied.
I have it on Primephonic, but thereâs a video on YT that is in a cool setting. Looks SO effortless, lol.
I really need to learn how to transfer songs here and the listening tonite thread to share! Would prob. have to do from YT as I donât know if one from Primephonic will play. ( I am really computer impaired as I never had need for them until a few years ago. )
Iâll check that out.
Wow. Yeah, I see what you mean. Iâve never heard of her or of that music. Must do a little digging
She also has toured with a group of female brass players. Fun stuff. She gave a concert at our local university last year, but I missed it. A bit different tone than Alison, but I like her playing, and Iâm not even a brass player, lol. Glad you liked it.
The big question for me is how to pronounce Tine Thingâs name. I need to find some vid in which someone introduces her.
Tee hee! I love Wikipedia! But in this case it helps if youâre Norwegian!
Enjoy your search of her music. One of the things I love about this forum.
I love Bach cantatas and I love the Netherlands Bach Societyâs stuff on Youtube. This is one of the very best. Perfection.
Thanks for sharing this with us. Sheâs very good! Lots of good music from over that way. As I have said, I follow the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. They have been doing some âempty hallâ sessions with trios, small ensenbles, as well as now a few with a spread out cut down orchestra.
Oh, thatâs a magnificent orchestra!
Hereâs one of my favorite bits of music on Youtube. Just perfect:
This is COVID-era:
Indeed! They are trying. I love that hallâŠacoustics are interesting when itâs empty.
I wouldnât mind living in the Netherlands. Wouldnât mind it at all.
Primephonic has been including some Saent Saens/ Roge lately. Good stuff and, yes, well-recorded! They have several different recordings of it/with him and of course others, so you can take your pick, lol.
Primephonic is great. Have it aswell. Huge database of recordings to pick from which is great!
Didnât see him posted thus far in this thread but if youâre looking for a more contemporary composer/pianist I highly recommend Karl Jenkins
fyi allâŠConcertgebouworkest (Amsterdam) is playing Friday pseudo-live concerts on Fridays this month. Earlier recordings presented as tho live, with the ability to comment and chat with listeners from around the world. I have seen a number of them in the pastâŠalways well done. Even tho youtube the audio is quite good and the camerawork is great. Tomorrow Feb 12 at 2pm Eastern time, (evening over there) Tchaikovsky Sym. # 5. I have seen that one before and it is an Excellent!! performance.
Man that sounds cool⊠I am fortunate to be employed and unavailable during that time. Sad for missing the webcast and interaction⊠but that sounds cool.
I forgot to add that they usually leave it up for a few days, so you can catch it
on your own schedule!
