From the 3 DaC I prefer the R5 as well. It only tells me that our “preferences” are in line, given I bought the g111 based on your experience. It’s spot on how you described it (at the time it sound wierd about ur impressions compared to the Rupert neve).
Also I’m looking at focal powered monitors shape 50 and they require a volume interface, so the soekris would be a better long term investment. Wouldn’t buy the speakers before autumn so it only makes sense I hold off for now.
I don’t want to dig deeper in the “rabbit hole”. The Clear are end game for me. The g111 is more than I’ll ever need with the cans I have and even if I get another one eventually. I want the DaC to be the same - last DaC buy for some time (years!!!).
