Anyone watched the Ghost stories Dub? Its a masterpeice!!! 10/10

Ergo Proxy was awesome. Loved that series. I remember they’d play a radiohead song on the ending credits. Another one like that i liked was Last Exile. Also Read or Die. Anyone seen Hayao Miyaziki’s Boy in the Future Conan? Its also great

lol the fucking best dude

but on a serious note they seriously gave it their best to not give a shit and came out with art

This is legit what they were told.
“1. Do not change the names of any character, including the ghosts.
2. Do not change the way any ghost is killed as it is based on Asian ghost legends.
3. Do not change the meaning of the episode.”

And they did so well its amazing, They turned it into the most retarded and stupid thing ever and I love it.

no clue that video existed haha. Hilarious xD, Probably in my top 5 shows to watch in dub xD.

The argument in favor of Crunchyroll is more to prove to Japan that Americans want anime and are willing to pay for it. We don’t get things like Funimation’s streaming platform or Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon making such strong efforts to have shows up quickly and have them translated accurately without Crunchyroll being successful.

Consume your media how you like. I’m not here to change anyone’s mind. But I certainly remember the days of FanSubs and as nostalgic as this makes me, I’m not really eager to go back to this.

I would pay for a less segregated system and more options literally take the catalogue any if the sketchy sites like kissanime and ask me to pay for it and as long as it’s supporting the industry I’m all for it but crunchyroll’s catalogue is too weak for how much I watch. So I’ll keep doing my part and support them in other ways otherwise until a service like that appears even if it’s cunchyroll themselves imma just do my own thing

Totally understandable. I myself don’t have a Crunchyroll subscription. But I think it’s important to know the significance of Crunchyroll has had on anime being accessible in English markets. I don’t think it’s an overstatement to say it’s going to be remembered in a similar fashion as Toonami or Adult Swim in the late 90s/early 00s. It’s good for the industry and a huge reason why anime is slowly becoming mainstream.

I actually still regularly watch modern fan subbed content. I personally really care about typesetting and the best work in that area has often come from fan sub releases. That’s also part of the reason I support Crunchyroll since they seem to care the most about it among streaming services. Netflix seems to care the least.
If anyone is curious about what I mean by typesetting, I can dig up an example.

Hey yall got any recommendations for anime? Kind of in a draught here as I have watched everything I thought looked interesting. Need something engaging

What genre are you looking for? If you look though this thread, there’s plenty of favorites mentioned if you’re not looking for something in particular.

hmm… good comedy is nice fantasy is nice as long as it actually has a good story… watched way to many isekais and a lot are bad lol and shonen are alright

lol kk for fantasy have you watched spice and wolf yet?not high fantasy or anything but takes place in a similar setting awesome story nice slow burn. and in terms or comedies nichijou is a classic if you have not watched it yet, Grand blue is probably my favorite comedy anime as of recent if you have not watched that yet either if you have I can go deeper into my list

Have you seen Nichijou? It’s my all time favorite comedy.

Mature Comedy: Konosuba - One of the funniest anime I’ve watched. Both seasons and the movie are great.

Rom Com (although much more Comedy than romance): Love is War - Being a teenager makes you stupid. Being a teenager in a prestigious highschool where social class matters while being in love makes you hilariously stupid.

Epic: Vinland Saga - Incredible characters, incredible ending, incredible everything. It’s a bit of a slow burner though but the last third absolutely blazes by.

Mob Psycho 100: Hilarious and visually amazing.

Those are a few I’ve burned through recently. If you give a genre you like (or genres you hate) you’ll likely get some better suggestions.

Yes, loved Spice and Wolf. Haven’t watched that in ages. @marcgii Nichijou is classic and yes I definitely have seen that. Grand blue I have not seen i will check that in a moment. @K1ngFiasco Konosuba is hilarious and I definitely seen it all the way to the end including the movie. Rom Com I will look into, Epic will look into, mob psycho I have seen.

it doesnt really fit any of the criteria aside form having a good story its a personal favorite and a classic samurai champloo is agreat one awesome style animation and story and the dub is pretty well done as well. other anime to bring up with good stories are anohana , kaiji, devilman crybaby, code geass and as i sift through my list I am starting to realize how much trash or mediocre shit I watch lol

I mean, that’s how I got into it and that’s how I’m currently consuming it. I don’t know of other sites and am still going through my to watch list.

I also buy good movies (like A Silent Voice) on Amazon.

I have zero idea how I could be more helpful than consuming it.
