Amiami for me. Good customer service and they don’t charge you until before they ship your figures out. Sadly I may have to change where I buy my figures as covid screwed with shipping from Japan and SAL is no longer available and only have access to surface parcel which takes 3 months. Tokyo otaku mode is nice as well but you have to pay for pre orders when you order and shipping pricing is worse than amiami. But they tend to have more on hand stock. Amiami is also really nice for used figures as well

You can also buy directly from the companies that make them. Kotobukiya and goodsmile company both have storefronts. Seeing as you like dragon ball I’m not sure if banpresto sells directly to customers though but their figures are really easy for me to get locally

Mostly Amiami or Hobby search. If you are going for the super niche and rare stuff that’s where it gets somewhat complicated lol. I’m pretty much done with this hobby at this point though. The current pricing will get me a couple end game systems easy. That and I’m sorta out of space lol.
Resins is a part of the hobby where it gets stupid obscure. More risk, more money. But some of the statues that come outs are beautiful

Three more figures arrived in the mail. Don’t know why Rias needed a platform, or why Rem needed a little fuzzy circle.
nice! I also pre ordered myself a no game no life figure as well today seeing they are doing a rerun of one that I’ve always wanted in the collection. regarding the platforms most figures generally come with a minimum of a little plastic disk even my cheap $17 ones do. that one reminds of this figure as well. I always wanted the one where she holds a spear in a similar pose

nice thats actualy seemingly pretty good decent base size is about what I would pay for for that price. agood quality figure can be a decent amount of money but if you want price to performance you can look at brands like good smile company and kotobukiya are some of my favorites

She looks really nice but at that price imo not really worth. FuRyu is kinda expensive Tom adds a little more and I feel the size ( yes she is sitting but it’s only 170 mm) makes it overpriced IMO.
It cost a whole damn lot if you get caught up lol. I have like a few high end amplifiers worth lmao!

Yeah and add to that, that shipping cost is insane and there you go. I’m taking a long break from collecting I have a pc and a hifi system to build in the meantime. If the hobby remains the same I don’t think I’ll really get back into it. It’s no longer the obscure/niche hobby it was a few years back and the industry knows this. It’s just me wishing the prices will become sane again lol.
Depending on the maker price to performance has improved due to better sculpts over the years.
For example kotobukiya released this great figure with an awesome base plus shipping was $18. And for a $200 total from amiami this was pretty well done. The more lewd figures are a bit much tough for example the bunny figures with very basic bases are way overpriced.

Compared to finding a figure of a character who’s not super popular(or a series that’s not terribly well known), the wait for a pre-order really isn’t that bad. The experiences I’ve had with AmiAmi have been pretty good so far.

Lol one of my holo figures got delayed for half a year. It’s a always pleasure dealing with amiami but sadly i may drop them soon as I am forced to pay dhl for all my figure orders
