Are there small earbuds that you can use with putty to mold a best fit for your outer ear?

my skin is reacting so bad to headbands and ear pads that I’m looking into other options again. IEMs just don’t fit…but maybe there is a really small earbud that can be put into a custom mold that makes for best fit possible?

I know they have such a thing for IEMs and ear plugs…so, I hope…

The most practical was is foam tips I use Sonic foam which come in several sizes. They’re soft to mold a custom fit, and they have chart showing which fit different nozzle sizes. The Moon drop Chu 2 I use for all travel. They sound and look great, and really affordable.

those are IEM’s, I’m looking at earbuds…I’ve tried many of the smaller IEM’s and they still don’t seat comfortably. :frowning:

Have you tried bullet style IEMs? They don’t have a shell that needs to fit your Concha. Just need the right tip size.

i.e. Tanchjim One DSP, Tanchjim Tanya DSP or TangZu Princess Chang Le

anything that’s not Chifi?

Yes, Etymotic makes great ones, but they are not traditional bullet style, they are deep insert and are over $100. Many find deep ear insert uncomfortable.

Can’t think of any others, but the ones I mentioned are inexpensive enough just to test whether you’d like the fit/feel. There are higher end bullet IEMs that you could move up to if you like the fit.

Anyone else want to chime in?

Have you tried the Tin Hifi T2+? Smooth small aluminum shell, can side sleep on a pillow they’re so comfy. (sorry ChiFi)

Here is a list of bullet iems.

mucho grassyass!

hmmm…it says the Etymotic and Final Audio are bullet and they were not comfortable, even with the smallest tips. I don’t have the E2000’s anymore, but still have the ER2SE and ER4XR.

Yes they are bullet iems. Then iems wont work for you I guess.

I guess you can count earpod-like shapes as well but those only in the wireless market.

are there different styles / types of ear bud?

If you mean flathead earbuds its mostly MX500 shells, Bell-shaped, Yuin PK (and the other versions of it) and lastly Qian39 (and my RG39).
