I have a pair as well and my worry with them is if the padding needs replacing or there is a structural repair can it be done? I think yes but also my velour pads always soak up so much of my oils they dirty so quick that im afraid to use the vegan suedes.
Im also not the biggest fan of the stick on pads bc ffs just make tabs and you can change them much easier and dont have to worry about the pad stick desticking.

Preach on! Yeah, the adhered pads helps establish a seal and all that but it is just pants-on-head stupid for those of us who want to swap pads from time to time. I mean, look at Mezeās magnetic attachment mechanism, a far more elegant solution that Audeze eventually wised up to with their recent LCD-1 release.
The not spending time with it is due to not having much time to spend with headphones in general.
Most times im done with my 12 hour work shifts i just need to stare at a blank wall for a while. Before you know it, you cook, eat, shower, do some chores and its back to sleep and work again.
Just picked up a newer LCD2 Fazor, because I was curious about the differences. Yeah, quite different. Treble is much more present on the Fazorsā¦ Gut reaction is I much prefer the PF, but Iāll have to give it some time.
I thought Iād update a little here. Thoughts on the LCD2PF(2.2) vs LCD2F(2019):
I think I still like the PF better, but that is just because it seems to have some sort of euphoric special quality to it. This is not an accuracy thing, but rather some sort of manipulation of the imaginingāat least thatās my perception of it. Iāve mainly come to this conclusion because of my experience gaming in the LCD2PF which was really odd and not accurate at all. I donāt notice this with music, and think it actually really adds to the experience and just kind of makes it special. The LCD2PF is thicker, easier on the treble-relaxed but engaging.
The LCD2 Fazor on the other hand is extremely accurate. I feel this is the most accurate headphone I have used up to this point. Bass, vocals, treble all present in the appropriate quantity, and all sound very natural and untampered with. I feel (for me) it is more accurate than things like the Sundara or any of Focalās offerings Iāve tried (Elex, Elear, Elegia). Itās just so incredibly clean and natural. Because of this, the amp pairing matters more than the LCD2PF, which I have found to sound good on everything. The Fazor will be more transparent to the amp, so if you have something sharper, itās going to come through. Again, the PF manipulates the sound more.
They are both outstanding headphones, and honestly probably worth owning both (although I donāt know if Iāll go this route, because there are still headphones I want to try and I have a limited budget).
So, yeah, if I were to make a recommendation, Iād probably say go with the LCD2PF if you already have very accurate / neutral headphones. If you looking for something neutral / accurate (but not in an extremely harsh way) take a look at the newer Fazor models.
I would be curious to answer this question as well. Iād love to compare, but I need to sell off some other gear before I can start looking for a good used LCD2C.
Man, this makes me want a LCD2 Pre more yet. Nice review, really like the chill background music.
Now some comments, mostly nitpicks: I do find the lights reflecting on your glasses a little distracting, but I like the contrast of dark background / light on you. Maybe move the light a little up, still pointing to you? Also, you do kind of seem to look everywhere, like some kind of camera shy. I kind of get it, I cannot record a 1 min video to a friend without looking to the side every second, just pointing it out. Finally, something I would like is the video segments, I especially like if I just want to re-hear a piece of information or looking for a specific passage on the video.
Again, Iām kind of nitpicking, mostly because you asked for some comments. Great video, I subscribed and am looking forward to more content. =)
Thank you for the comments I appreciate you taking the time to write them out. Talking to the camera is definitely a skill I am working on. And if you get the chance to try the pre-fazors and have the means, they are definitely worth trying out. Cheers!
Does anyone have suggestions for good amp pairings for the LCD-2 PF? (any price roughly under 1k) Much to my surprise, the Soloist 3X wasnāt a good combo. Iām leaning towards the Asgard 3 being my favorite with the RNHP coming in at second.
Thatās interesting, as I dropped my LCD-2.2pf into a second smaller system, bought a Playmate 2 with V6 Vivid Op Amps and a Supercharger power supplyā¦and itās driving the Audezeās absolutely splendidly. The magic really happened once I realized to download and install the Burson USB driver. Huge difference between using that, and using Wasapi (exclusive mode) right out of the box. The neutral balance of the Burson, really wakes up the sometimes dark nature of the Audezeāsā¦IMHO.
Iāll agree though, that the Playmate 2 in stock form is a little underwhelming.
The issue I had was the Soloist seem to throw off the tonal balance. It also seemed to color the LCD-2 more than any other headphoneāno idea why.
Also the Playmate 2 might just have better synergy. I donāt own the supercharger, but Iāll probably pick one up eventually.
I had them with the Asgard 3, RNHP, and the lake people g111. My ranking for these three were: 1st G111. 2nd Asgard 3. 3rd RNHP. G111 did a very good job with them.
I got my hand on a pair of Rosewood LCD 2 pre Fazors.
They are in really good condition. The leather is nice and soft and the wood doesnāt have any cracks.
Only the size adjustment is a bit on the loose side. Is there a way to fix this? I already tried to tighten the small slotted screws on the back of the adjustment blocks, but they are not moving in either direction.
