Currently using the FX-Audio DAC-X6 Mini and a Fisher CA-272, and I can’t for the life of me stop my DT880 250ohm’s from clipping any time the audio gets moderately loud. It’s especially annoying when using discord, since whenever someone is speaking, it sounds like they’re peaking. I’ve tried using the DAC-X6 alone and the same issue persists, and it happens from 16-bit 32000hz to 24-bit 96000hz. I turn off all windows audio enhancements and turn off exclusive mode. I have my windows audio at 100 and the amp at 3.5/10. The issue persists when I connect the DAC to my laptop and try playing music there. The issue also persists when using my KZ ZS10’s with the stack and the DAC-X6. This makes me believe that it’s a windows issue but I can’t figure it out, has anyone else had something like this happen to them?
Are you using a laptop or desktop? If you are using a laptop check for the power battery saver. If it is enable sometimes it make some dac clip
Do you have any other device to test the CA-272 with?
Could be too “hot” of a signal from the DAC.
The DAC-X6 Mini has a line-out specification of 1.8V RMS but the CA-272 has a line-in specification of 0.125V (designed for older low-level sources like tape players). Does reducing the Windows volume improve the clipping issue?

Turns out I had a defective copy of the DAC-X6, and my CA-272 had only a slight distortion on the low end in the left channel from something I don’t know. Got a Fiio k5 pro and no issues since. Always check the one-star reviews I guess
