Acoustics /Psychoacoustics is facinating
Tucking the early fundamental of vocals pulls the gain at you, it’s like “stealing focus”
People call it a dry or thinner replay but everyone has a way of describing the phenom.
Interestingly, The Elysian DIVA pushes back on that with even more sub bass making for a low subtle hum/drone like being next to an amp that is live and patched in but not playing back anything. Adds a warmth.
I bought the DIVA full price because of that 1st experience being so unique I thought I was having a overly sweet memory of the set.
Nope.
It does counter that dry tuck.
I’m not as antiHarman as I once was but the pigeon holing of what is proper tuning is making some sets get bypassed because they don’t adhere to a variation of that target.

Idk I just got the idea since the SA6 Ultra had a Z review logo on it and that cable is also exclusive to the Ultra, it felt REALLY nice that cable, best I ever had.

I’m not very familiar with Ananda but this is on the same branch of the tree as Arya. Energetic, Bass is enough almost always moreso w/bass guitars and drums. It treats the lowest of the 3 hits on kill Jill at 38Hz about same as Arya.
And this one is ready for prime time, compared to the other Moondrop headphone?

I was contemplating getting the Venus but wanted to have a review of it before seriously considering it. Looking forward to more information about it. How is the staging and imaging for you?
That’s why I’m at a 99% satisfaction level with your recs. Nothing is ever 100% with anything, although I’ve never been disappointed with your recs.
I know you listen to some of the same stuff i listen to. Geto boys and Scarface is some of the hardest bass to get right for iems for some reason imho. This is where bad ba bass really shows it’s weakness. Like u18s bass can sound good on a cardi b track but play it on Scarface big boy status it sounds anemic.
By the way, this bass line sounds bad on U18s but phenomenal on mest mk2 with spiral dot tips, ex800st and other good dynamics. U might want to add this to your bass tracks. It’s pretty unique and reveals winners vs losers IMHO.
