@hawaiibadboy thanks for the rec on the Thieaudio Oracle. Just got them in today… had a long wait and some trouble with the delivery with Linsoul. They were ordered back on April 30th. DHL just dropped them off today (without any notification…) but… I digress… listening to these now, …wow these are a solid pick man. This is a a really chill set. You mentioned the tuning and the tonality being very good on this set and I have to agree. I think it has been some time that I have had that moment where a headphone or IEM has just grabbed me.
The 64 Audio Trio and Fourte are both being dropped from my top tier. Just like the Sony EX1000 and 800ST were dropped from A+ to B 2 months ago. Memory, worse than a “Demo” but both are not ideal. Different evaluation style, higher expectations, no nostalgia (e.g. EX1000). I was wowed by them but likely because of being unique instead of great. The Nio is also too smooth and warm. U12t is in fact best product they have made that I have tried. Both are for sale $1,800 for TRiO and $2,000 for Fourte which has no box. That’s why not $2,800-$3,200. While the Legend X is also a specialty IEM like these two, it matches my library while these would get less play. They need a new home. I will do a vid.
Hopefully UK’s rolled over Canjam 2020 goes ahead this year as me and the missus still have tickets rolled over from last year🤞I’d like a listen to some of the 64 stuff… open minded I am but not sure I’d jam with them…but who knows?
They are unique. For my library it would be short and rare listens. I should try classical. Verdi, Vivaldi Tchaikovsky. I got em but never listen.
Now the Legend X…that’s a specialty set I can enjoy.
I know it’s just a coincidence that FiiO has not contacted after my FH5s review about the new DAP.
God bless em. They were good to me for a long time.
Took Shenzen 1 bad review . Took FiiO like 10.
Both of you (@hawaiibadboy and @Rikudou_Goku) had positive reviews of the FH3 and FD5, and neither of you liked the FH5s. That seems consistent to me. You probably hurt FiiO’s feelings since they touted the FH5s probably more than any of their prior IEMs. Perhaps the marketing budget for it was as large as the entire R&D budget.
Just wondering a few things… Do you guys ask companies for review units of their new products or do the companies reach out to you to provide reviews for them?
Do you have to return the products or send them on to another reviewer when your review is complete? Are you allowed to keep the product? How does all that work? Thanks!
I have never contacted FiiO from my side.
They mail me, announce upcoming item/s and I reply with which ones I want.
I’ve been treated well and with respect. The difference between FiiO and Shenzen is huge.
Makes me think part of that difference is companies simply cannot afford bad press in the ultra competitive times we are in. No ill will for FiiO from me.
Shenzen rep…a bag a dicks all day long
