Psych, super pumped!! Hopefully we have enough people on HifiGuides to complete the verses!
It’s going to be fun. The real fun is going to start when folks start dropping pics of the lyrics on the cards. That was my vision…
Selling is the 1st step but there is no fun in that really.
I don’t think anyone in this hobby has done anything like this.
Music…
This is the best example of “when you love what you do, you’ll succeed”
I wish you the best…!
i think the same driver definitely has a similar soundstage, imaging, and resolution. The case is the same as the Tinhifi T3+ and Aria. Both have the same driver. What sets it apart is the sound tuning. T3+ is more v-shape, Aria is more linear. But you can feel the driver characters are same. Differences in housing design and nozzle diameter may affect the soundstage. The quality of the cable and the eartips model can also have an effect. But don’t expect much difference.
Guys I wonder if there’s been a comparison between DQ6S / CCA CRA. i’m going to buy Olina + a budget IEM which is going to be CRA or DQ6A
I have bought both and am awaiting their arrival. I’m not a reviewer so any comparison I can give will very basic and subjective, however, I will try my best to provide a comparison. I also have Mele, KZ ZEN, KZ ZEN Pro, Blon 05S, Blon 03, KZ ZS10 Pro, Tin T2, Moondrop Starfield, Moondrop Quarks, and the Tripowin Tea in my budget collection, so I will be doing a marathon comparison session. Now all I have to do is create a new listening playlist.
I have bought the Olina as well.
That’s an incredible collection. I’ve got two at the moment and feel that’s one too many.
So close . this tea mk2 will be a big challenge for 500-1000$ iems hope we get a good resolution to complete the mission
You know, I don’t think it’s been said before that different driver types should be tuned to different targets and it is, indeed, an intriguing proposition.
I’ve personally noticed that estats in the treble, pretty much regardless of how much I EQ boost them, don’t sound screechy leading me to believe they should possibly be tuned with a higher, less drastic, treble roll-off.
Lessons learned from tuning and reviewing but mostly tuning.
Estat can take more input but also can be tuned a bit lower than BA and DD
BA’s are often cited as being just alright for bass. I’d argue they are mostly weak in treble.
Timbre…grainy. Tonality, inauthentic
I don’t have much experience in the matter, but aren’t ba the best Thing we have for mids?
It’s a subjective matter, IMO. I strongly prefer the tonality of DD mids, for example. BA’s can sound “plastic’y” sometimes. YMMV
I would like to find out how a small DD would perform in the mids.
I think you can get a very clean sound by putting BAs in the “mud frequencies”.
Hey Chris I have a question hanging around, I understand that a hybrid/trybid IEM is tuned via component selection and adjusting the crossover board making thinks towork together in a way, but how do you tune a DD?, I mean, the small differences between Olina and O2, being the same driver, how are obtained? is there some kind of circuit inside a DD?TIA
In this post there is basic answer from great Oratory1990 on what affects the final sound in typical DD headphone
I am sure HBB would give more insights from his perspective, however based on the fact that Olina uses O2 driver as a base not many things could be adjusted in it itself but in acoustic chamber around mostly
Great info! Thanx.
DD drivers are like tiny versions of home speakers and are tuned by the enclosure (volume/material) mostly, though you can alter the driver by changing material behind the polepiece or in front
the 02 driver did not work in the Mele shell. It worked pretty much perfect in a Mele body with a new nozzle and the driver at a tiny angle.
