:+1:
This looks dope and I also love to tinker around with the themes and stuff to create a personal look.

Will check it out for sure

Thanks for the suggestion.

No trouble.
Might be bit complicated for first time Kodi user, but if youre a tinkerer by vocation as you say, youll have fun  .
You can always ask if you get stuck at some point or cant figure how to achieve part of the look that you saw on the video and like, i might be able to help.

Not into expensive cables, and not even into full sized cans, but id be a god damn liar if i said this mother doesnt look dope af. Cmon china, do your thing  poke poke, i want it thinner and cheap.

Thanks for this confirmation, i actually just found a reviewer who wrote this:

“I’ve read crazy stuff about the HE6SE v2: people complaining that their 4 W amplifier did not have enough power to drive these headphones “correctly”, or that “they only shine” if you use special cables with esoteric speaker amplifiers. Let’s get this straight: none of this is true . It’s all a steaming pile of rubbish”

Btw, have you ever had a chance to compare the Asgard 3 to the Jotunheim 2? I was wondering if there are any differences in sound signature other than just the additional power.

I actually have a +7dB bass boost on the HE6se and as consequence a -7dB pre amp. That is why i have to use the Asgard on max volume, hahaha. Still it is capable of driving the HE6 to VERY loud levels even with the -7dB, i just wasn’t sure if that talk about poor macrodynamics and slam without speaker amps was true.

I would be extremely surprised if this set could sound any better with more power, because it sounds awesome right now…

@luizgarcia Killing off your lcd-x?

Maybe! Hahaha, the HE6 are still not mine but i may decide to keep them and then the LCD-X may be redundant… I am trying to figure out which one i like best.

It wasn’t close for me. There was nothing I liked about the lcd-x and the he6se I would buy again if I ever happen to have a powerful enough amp.

How do you have headphones that are not yours?

Wait until you try the hp-2. For pure fun, it’s not even a contest.

A friend purchased the HE6 but he will not have time to use it for a week or so, he knows i was considering this set for a while so he lent me so i could try it. Now he says i can keep it if i like it and i just need to buy him another one to replace it.

Now you are not making things any easier to me by tempting me to get a HP2 instead, lol

I mean you also have this statement coming from that same reviewer here

“No amplifier can nor should fundamentally change how headphones sound”

Which personally I’d disagree with lol

But the whole power thing is somewhat of a balancing act with the he6 imo. Ideally you want to have high quantity and quality power. Otherwise if you just have loads of power but not really much quality to said power, it’s not going to get you very far, I’d personally rather have higher quality power than higher quantity of power (but there’s still a higher minimum requirement than most cans), but just my 2c there.

The speaker amp thing I don’t know if it’s worth pursuing unless you have a lot of money to throw down, because a lot of the more midrange speaker amps don’t have the more minute level control like headphone amps do in the same price range, so you may find that a higher power headphone amp can offer a more satisfactory experience there, but all depends on the amps of course

Not a fan of those either lol

Would agree, being lifeless is coloration lol

Yes i disagree with that statement as well.

Personally i think the HE6 sounds awesome with the 2.5w the Asgard delivers @ 50ohms, but i dont have a more powerful amp to compare, that is why i am asking around

If it sounds awesome already than that’s what counts lol. The schiit stuff like the a3 or jot 2 have a lot of current behind them which helps out the he6 pretty well. From my experience it does get better as you move up the amp ladder, but that doesn’t always mean moving toward more power, but more instead higher quality power (with somewhat similar or higher levels of power from what you have now, just don’t start making too many trades in the quality department for more quantity).

I’d honestly personally stick with that until you can move up to some higher end offerings like a burson soloist 3xp, flux fa12, cayin iha6, used violectric v281, used pro ican, etc for the he6, but if you are already pretty satisfied with the a3 it begs the question if you even would feel the need to upgrade lol

Thank you, they will both be missed.

lol are we talking about the same hobby here? I feel like i could have a Susvara AND an Abyss 1266 and i would still be looking for my next set

Can’t really argue there lol, been there done that (2 other cans that pair really well with the susvara and 1266 are the utopia and mysphere lol, those 4 cover the bases really well)
