Thanks for the response. I’m thinking I got the right set. I just did a comparison using Metallica - One. Right after the 4:30 mark when the Double bass petal kicks in with the guitar. Definitely am able to hear it and fell some authority even with the guitars added in the mix. Same testing with Pantera - Cowboys from Hell. Mest mkII still seems to have some more to it. Guess possibly different driver material. Or maybe not a good comparison possibly master/tuned lower for the drum. Gave Van Halen - Hot for Teacher a go also. Having a little harder time on this. Only other set I have close to the Lava slope is Hana 2021 so will compare to that too.
I’m also gonna test these songs on the Monarch MKIIs later today. See how they compare in the kick drums since they slope closer to the original EJ07M. I think that will give me a good comparison.
They did reply back and say they track the serial numbers vs products produced. I’m going to see if they actually can provide me my serial without providing it to them. If the two match I’ll probably take their word for it. They have also now offered to ship me the correct box. I’m just really trying to avoid the return hassle. Last time something similar happened my return never made it to the company. Went back and forth wasting time for months before being refunded.
I lost my OG EJ07 to a lost return (to Linsoul), so I have to agree with avoiding a return at all costs. Shuoer has been very helpful and thorough in my experience with them, though, so stay in communication and I’m sure that it’ll all work out.
@hawaiibadboy Jumped on Discord for Letshuoer and apparently it’s happening to not just me. Looks like everyone that got the Black addition is in the same boat. I’m being told they track serial numbers to models and they should be posting all the Black serial numbers for us to verify against. They’re also offering to send the correct outer sleeve.
After comparing the incorrectly boxed Kinda Lava to my Monarch MKII and Mest MKII I’m 100% convinced I received the correct edition. Also, Letshuoer provided me the serial number of my IEM, which matched up, and said it’s in their database as a Kinda Lava. Between my comparison and that I’m assured it’s just boxed wrong.
With that let me say. Man you and Letshuoer hit it out of the park. This thing shines right in line with my Mest MKII, U12T and Monarch while still being unique in a glorious way. In all honestly had a heard the Lava as my first above $300 IEM I’d have stopped most likely. It’s literally TOTL for my library and hearing preference.
Glad to hear Letshuoer were responsive and got back to you.
Be good to get your impressions once you given these a run through your library. From your previous post we definitely overlap on library, so the Kinda Lava are seriously on my radar. for another sale soon.
Man, I’ve been following this in the background and I felt crushed for you at first, happy that you got it all squared away, brother. Enjoy them Lavas! I haven’t seen nor heard one negative on this set … I’m DEFINITELY going to have to give them a whirl one day. Enjoy em, brother!
Any other companies I should be concerned about? For example, Tinhifi is one of my favorite brands, it would be disappointing to find out that it is the same crap as KZ when it comes to multidrivers…
The problem with QC is that how random the issues will be.
You can buy from such companies and be lucky with a good return on investment. And sometimes get defects as you open the box or soon after.
My approach with cheap Chifi is: Gatcha. You pay cheap and you can be happily surprised, but expect nothing to begin with.
And as a community, we should indeed be strict and ask to get what we pay for as the video reminds.
