A la Elixir. Lame
Right, a la monarch mk2 as well
I believe it’s HBB’s unit (sample 1) and Nymz’ unit (sample 2), which seemed to have some unit variation.
TRN Kirin (14.5 mm Planar)
Interesting Graph with Swappable Tuning Nozzles
Just $130
Let’s wait n see
@hawaiibadboy Would the TRN Kirin be on the list for Planar Wars? if they are any good at that killer price.
Sweet!
Looking forward to hear what you think.
Awesome to hear you think the Aladdin’s worth its own video soon too. This is a great overview, there’s a lot of interest in the Moonlight right now. I’ll have to see if one’s going second-hand in 1-2 years time for budget, but it sounds really promising.
Love yor style man
@hawaiibadboy you ever have interest in Campfire Audio? I am curious about their planar, the Supermoon. As far as I know, the plan is for custom-only, but it seems there is a limited universal release in the Hong Kong (?) market. Still unclear if universal will be made available if demand pressure dictates.
@hawaiibadboy when you said,” There’s no point with this set where I felt like it was to much” is spot on. Which I think is a large portion of its appeal for me. It’s never offensive in anyway. There are times though, with the bass, where I wish it had a touch more. Then I wonder how the rest of the presentation would be affected. Of course there’s sets that I’ve heard with better bass but, lack in other areas or bring to much in another area. It’s really a crazy double edged sword.
Overall I don’t think the Moonlight is the greatest rec for someone who has a listening habits that are more specific to certain genres. Where I think it shines is for someone like myself. My library and listening sessions are all over the place. At any given time I’ll be listening to country, then metal, to reggae and bounce to EDM. That’s when I think the moon shines bright and this IEM really cast its shadow to the listener. Never flexes to hard but, also never exposes its weaknesses in play daylight.
Looks like you found your ideal all-rounder set! Have you tried Final E tips to add a touch more bass to your Moonlight? Or CP145? Curious if the Moonlight responds well to tip rolling.
I haven’t tried Final E Tips. Did try CP145 tips on it and random ones from my mess of tips. Ended up using tips like the ones that come with Xenns which have channels on the end of the them and are more coned shaped. It’s been my go to tip for sound and fit. I’d say it’s responds well to tip rolling. I can definitely hear a difference based on the tip opening size. Can’t comment on if it’s the responsive IEM for tip rolling but, it’s definitely audible.
Gotcha. I’m eagerly waiting for my BGVP W01 and E01s to arrive - they are I think slightly wider bore than stock Yanyin tips, and hopefully that’ll mean I can use 110 on my Canon and get both thumping bass and nice mids!
This one for you @hawaiibadboy. Thanks for keeping it up.
Asked especifically to add the “KL” after the model name and I think it turned out pretty hot.
Thanks bro
I might grab a set if they offer uni or i see a graph of the CIEM
It’s a very nice set and Yanyin is a great company with a good tuner. Sometimes hyping a set puts a target on it’s back so i refrained a bit. Folks who are here for the music will enjoy this set. It does not step wrong.
@nymz SAVAGE
@hawaiibadboy slight change of subject because I know you love the Argons, have you tried the T60 Argons yet? I’ll probably be getting a set but I’m still not 100% if it’ll be the T50 or the T60 Argons
“Demand too much attention” fits my experience and I have no idea why. That’s spot on. Timeless and Variations had that effect for me.
I know the pain, my ADHD brain shutdowns when there is too much detail / information.
There tribrids that are absolutely fine and do not bombard your brain with detail still being very technical - to name few Shuoer EJ07 (YinYoo ST7), Kinera Nanna.
Variations are too hot for me as well.
