Bad Guy Good Audio Rankings and stuff (under construction) (Part 1)

Wow, SEEK is using the same driver? Did they verify that with you then? No wonder it graphs so well! But it’s 179 USD… Guess it costs twice as much as the Olina because of the shell :joy:

Seek uses the rev2 02 driver and Olina the original 02 driver.
So the sets you see graphed by paulwasabii and others with more sub bass is the Rev 2 The original older 02 that myself and Crin graphed are the original release.

Oh, that means SEEK will sound closer to my O2! At least I know I don’t need to get it haha. Thanks for the info :fist_right:

:joy::joy::joy: maybe if you pay for it mate :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: I’m pretty content with the Canon! Been trying out the earbuds scene, courtesy of @Rikudou_Goku. Earbuds are super musical and affordable, so I don’t end up trying to justify the £££ I spent by analysing and comparing against other sets.

Hey, does anyone here have any experience with the Thor Mjolnir MKII? I’m looking at potentially preordering it and I would appreciate any impressions of it. I understand the original is considered a well done bass cannon and I’m wondering if the MKII is a worthy upgrade from my Focus EDM for that stinky BASS.

I know as I sold mine to them @CTOXmas has one and @Rcayn had one at one point. From my remembrance and notes on it though it is not a bass cannon. It is bassy but, it’s a very mid bass focus set with a pretty substantial subbass dip. I wouldn’t consider it an upgrade or side grade to the EDM just different. If your looking solely for chasing ‘dat stinky bass I’d most likely avoid it.

Oh okay, so are there any sets you would recommend as potential upgrades for the EDM? Is that even a fair question? Cause looking at the FR it looks about as bass head as you can get without compromising the rest of the FR.

SEEK Real Proser and Fusion and Airship frequency responses graphs are all pretty nice.

Total opposite of another new company “iF”

P.S.

can we expect a review soon?

personally I think the EDM would be too much for me so I went with the Vocal, still slams without being bloated or bleeding into the other ranges as long as the song itself isn’t overdone, imo the vocal is a upgrade over the live 3. not sure about anything over them.
for me Thor MK2 is a just right for pretty much everything, fun without having to worry about how the song was done as it’s a tasteful amount of slam.

Let be to have that SEEK real fusion graph on a Planar.

Kirin is on my radar since its announcement, but the graph I see scares me a bit: seems like a really bright set. The 15k peak is impressive but I don’t think I’ll hear it. Given the timeless didn’t really fit me (too much bass or too thin sounding, depending on the tips), I hope this, with its accessories, will be more suited for my ears.

Will the Kirin get a video?

I would actually recommend the Hook X for EDM. It has great dynamic slam, especially for a planar. Because it has a natural and so slightly distant sound presentation, as opposed to synthetic and intimate, you can really crank the volume to get that bass volume without the mid and treble fatigue. The enveloping large stage does wonders for that engaging club feel too.

Just make sure to EQ down the 8-9kHz range and you should be good to go.

@hawaiibadboy The unicorn has landed and is real.

First track choice 3 Kinds of Bass and damn what a fun guilty pleasure.

They bring me back to my teenage years when I had two 12s and a 1000 watt amp in my trunk with the gain turned up. No care for overall auto quality. Just trunk rattling license plate vibrating bass.

I noticed you had fir xenon xe6 in your list of top basshead iems.

Is that a good Iem overall? Mids and treble is good as well? How is it for hip hop/rnb?

What are they?

I’m not usually into EQ. Haven’t used it on any of my current or previous sets. But, the biggest downfall with the ASG 2.5 is the treble region is way to muddied. It’s like your in a club with the bass kickin’ and then go into the back bar. Bass still thumping but, vocals and treble just become atrocious.

Man the bass though can’t let me put it down so, I turned to some EQ. Super easy fix with just a little hshelf lift and BAM!! Instantly turned this set into exactly what my hopes were. It’s killing my 90’s Hip-Hop. Big Tymers, Three 6 Mafia, Ying Yang Twinz, Trick Daddy and Lil Jon to name a few. This is definitely a super fun set.

Haven’t heard anything like it or smiled so much listening to Hip-Hop on IEMs. I must admit though my only basshead sets I’ve heard are the Focus EDM and EE Legend Evo. But, neither of them move the amount of air and hit so deep it’s like your in the trunk with the subs. In all it’s a solid win and I’m super happy. Really wish we had more companies just going against the grain and pushing out super niche fun sets.

ASG 2.5. It’s the unicorn HBB speaks of in his video as his #1 basshead set. Hasn’t been sold for a few years. Have to find them on the used market now, which is super rare, and usually go for a tremendous amount more than we they were released.
