This is promising…I love my Olina with Tanya filter…who knows.
Somebody having Stellaris might try?

Still loving the Hook-X.
Heard a bunch of sets at CanJam SoCal.
Impressed by how it stood up. Few surpassed Hook-X, for my ears.
Yup, one of the better sets. Very Musical, very relaxing but detailed
Would the filter just be inserted in the nozzle?
Not in but on (filter)
Tuning foam would go into the nozzle
This vid by Shortbus is clear and to the point
So ticked off that my order didn’t work out
Maybe it’s the universe’s way of giving you an off-ramp from chasing the White Rabbit? Lol
It will be available soon to harvest your money in exchange for 1,2,3 DD’s and 4 BA’s
The plus side is I can hear your thoughts on it now, instead of buying blind!
Hopefully I won’t have to wait until Linsoul sells it for 1.5-3x the price.
I will definitely have a graph and opinion to share about it.
Thanks! By the way this is the second day in a row for me of listening to the JVC HA-FW01 and really liking it. Have you ever tried one of the “woodies”?
When you do… I tried something this afternoon.
I tried putting foam into my eartips to increase sub-bass, but it just dampened the sound in general, too warm and bleedy. Then I tried this - I cut up stickers and put them over two of the three vents on the front of the IEM (I chose the side and top one, because I figured the lower one is probably blocked by my hear a decent amount anyway).
It always had plenty of mid bass but I think this helps to cleanly raise the sub bass, I’m digging it! But it may be in my head. I’d be interested if you’re able to give it a spin.
Finding it hard to fault this set at the moment. I’ll need to compare them with the OG Penon Fan soon, they would fit a similar role for me.
Bass being physical is a big item on my list, so I’m loving this set for that.
EDIT: To me it still sounds super clean, just with hecka bass.
It’s really interesting how you describe your bass needs, because the same terminology can mean radically different things. How you describe wanting physical bass is something I can totally get down with, but it’s funny that for me that physicality comes from mid-bass thump over sun-bass rumble.
I love how we all hear and describe the sound. It’s so much fun to be in this hobby for stuff like this
Both valid sources of physicality for me! With the mod I feel like I’m getting both
EDIT: If my ear-memory serves me well, these feel like an improvement on what I loved about the Oriveti OH300.
Crinacle published his measurements of QKZ x HBB and it helped me realize why I like it so much and don’t mind much the bass technically bleeding into the mids - the bass rise is broadly similar to Final Audio E3000(just with much better sub bass extension) which was my first IEM and got me into the whole audio hobby. The treble level is also close, just with a slightly different countour:
I did find one flaw in QKZ x HBB though - the shells(or maybe the ports?) are very microphonic and when I tried wearing a beanie over them it resulted in some very startling and very loud noises at the slightest movement. But that’s a small nitpick.
I had it for a few days - to my surprise the cable is almost IDENTICAL to the Tin T3 cable I got as an upgrade with my Tin T4s and which was my go to for mmcx IEMs. It technically has twice as many strands but they’re woven the same way, just in pairs. The split is identical in shape and size, and the chin slider is also identical in size and shape. The plugs are also similar but better on the TRN cable since they’re color coded instead of having barely visible print. They’re also both about the same in terms of how soft and pliable they are.
The interchangable plugs are a bit of a question mark - there isn’t any kind of detent/lock(not sure if fancier interchangable plug cables have them, I have no experience here) and it’s all just press fit. It’s secure in normal use, but after leaving the cable in my pants pocket for few hours over two days, it did come lose. The pins are recessed however, and there isn’t much risk of damaging them. They’re also very nicely machined with clear marks and nice knurling, and not to large - same size again as on the T3 cable.
There is only one area where the price shows - the shrink wrap over the ear hook part isn’t the tightest. But nothing tragic. I got the cables for $15 each with free shipping from linsoul, and at that price they’re a stupid good deal.
Interesting - for $15, I don’t think it’s possible to go wrong with a changeable termination cable.
But I will say this, to your point, the lack of click for the terminations is somewhat annoying. The Mon MKII cable (which is $80 retail I believe?) does not have a click. I think the Dunu Hulk has the swappable terminations with that confirmation click though, so I guess you have to spend a few C notes to get that feature! Just wait a few months, man. With the way this hobby is moving, we’ll have tri-brids with EST, Bone conduction and planar drivers for $20 competing in the budget segment
The Kinera Gramr cable also lacks clicking with its interchangeable tips and they come loose over time so now I am hesitant to get another interchangeable cable unless its from a reputable brand like DUNU
