As far as I can see it, graphs are like the cover of a book. They can give you an idea of what you’re into, but they’ll never be able to convey the language on display inside of that book.
Well put! I couldn’t have described it any better. That was the perfect analogy for it.
I would go one step further and say the graph is like a book summary. It explains the plot well enough and gives you a broad view of the story but you miss all the details, nuance and emotion that comes with actually reading the book
You’re too kind, genuinely I wish I were more creative with some of the things some of the more interesting folk on here have to say!
Yeah, this might be the better way to paint that picture. I couldn’t agree more - I suppose the graph is comparable to maybe the genre of the book. If you’re a person who typically enjoys horror or, fantasy or (I don’t read many books so I’m not familiar with the genres, but you get me), you might gravitate towards a book that falls under that genre. If you enjoy sets with elevated mid bass and a more relaxed upper mid sig. then that set will pull you in. Only until you open the book and start reading or plug the set in and listen to it, will you come to your conclusion.
It’s only the beginning, it only helps narrow down your selection. When you dive deeper, is when you’ll be able to pick out if it’s a keeper or a memorable set or not.
Sometimes simple is better. Your book analogy and @cal_lando addition to it are about as simple as can be. Easy for everyone to understand, clear and to the point.
Hey Chris, the 1st position placeholder in your ranking is what we all imagine it to be? my finger is on the trigger, just waiting for your full review and need to understand import taxes here in EU from Singapore…
It is. I’m just trying to let my own hype chill for a solid week and not do a stupid fanboy/simp/Hypeman video.
I might end up doing that anyway but not because i got new toy hype. Cuz it is seriously dope.
12 driver hybrid with monster bass that is corrected by 300Hz (vocals are clean as is most everything else.) Treb is similar to variations but 4 EST instead of 2.
It’s a crazy set. My library fucking loves them
can’t wait for your fanboy…emh…I mean…review video … this will be my xmas self-present
Fanboy out, brother! There’s something entertaining about that coming from you who rarely fan boys out. Most of the time, it’s straight forward and to the point - let’s get some excitement!
Merry Christmas to you…you deserve to enjoy
The huge jump of tuning in budget range is making the mid tier options kinda awkward.
@Rikudou_Goku was mentioning how companies might lose innovative motivation because of collabs and improved budget sector via tuning /collabs/sales volume making up for smaller margins.
I’d buy the FatFreq SE if it were my money (which i did) cuz that’s kinda how I see the hobby.
A few budget bangers and 1 or 2 primo sets and I’m good
I’m also on the verge of ordering the FATfreq Maestro SE, just waiting for your full review.
By the way, which genres do you think will be a good match for the Maestro SE?
All of em.
Rock, HipHop, Classical (Verdi, Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky), Reggae.
Guy on Headfi made an interesting post in the Fatfreq thread. He was lamenting the lack of slam (mid bass) on the Maestro mini.
These are not Focus EDM with BA and EST
These will put low drones in your ear wit a tactile vibe but top 2 chords on a bass guitar are not blowing out vocals.
They did some crazy shit right here.
I listened to “Sweet Lord” by George Harrison a buncha times after seeing a vid last night done during Covid.
Audio just launched a new IEM called Ehhiku:
It’s the Audio IEM HBB teased a few weeks ago.
Anyone know how this was tuned? I might picked one on Linsoul during 11.11 if it’s any good.
Very interesting driver config: 3 DDs and 4 BAs.
Prob the most beautiful Audio IEM too!
Edit: Paulwasabii has a FR on his squig.link, looks pretty terrible, gonna pass on this until I see reviews, IEM isn’t cheap enough to consider blind buying.
Life is good
Enjoy the weekend
That really is a strange squig… glad my order didn’t work out!
Truthear HEXA Frequency response graph
Bass is more polite than graph implies. (unfortunately)
Was compared with Dunu Vulkan?? Mmm no.
More bass on that …though they graph about same in bass.
Hope Dan’s Audio Reviews gets this for a relative compare in a sound demo.
Damn. Congrats, brother. I’m so happy for you - seeing your updates on the little one brings me back 6 years ago when my wife was cooking our bun. Peace and love, my friend
From 3k on looks like a Corgi in a 3/4’s profile…and my girl loves dogs so it must sound good…?
