Drivers for what? It’s a DAP amp/dac mashup. I have had the joy/misery of buying the TOTL daps.

Chris! I’ve been off if the grid for awhile because of work and I am catching up on everything. Has the UM Mest really dethroned the Z1R for you? And if so, would you say their complimentary or redundant?
The JP is better than IER Z1R for me and they are redundant IMO. Have one or other. Unless you grow Money Trees
Looks like I’ll continue to sit the the Sonys. The only Money Trees I have is the song on Good Kid, Mad City

depending on how my EQ of the final matches with the sound signature of other IEMs i might go with the TAPE 2 as my next IEM

It’s not your first rodeo, lol. It’s always been like that. You can’t win the cable discussion on head-fi, we just need to accept that.
Try to check out the NF Audio’s thread on HF, it seems more like a cable discussion thread than the IEMs themselves. I personally learned to filter such users, that’s the easiest path… in the end of the day is just a bunch of addict people trying to find the best sound and seeking for the last endless mileage.

I’ve kinda given up discussing cables as I’m in the ‘they can make a difference’ crew when it come to low impedance IEM’s and high end speaker systems…if you have the 
and can personally perceive an audible difference (not always good mind) then why not?

On my Westone ES50, I remember switching cables to some nicer cable at an audio show. I could notice a very slight difference, but then my hearing gets used to it and in general, doesn’t really make a difference and didn’t change my opinion on how I feel about the IEM.
