Bad Guy Good Audio Rankings and stuff (under construction) (Part 2)

Man that’s the truth. Our oldest is so chatty. Sometimes it’s adorable and sometimes you just want to put in headphones haha.

Totally relate. Especially when they get tired. If they stop talking for a second they fall asleep. That was my car ride with my son yesterday :joy:

Shout out to @rattlingblanketwoman for keeping it :100: as always

I bought the Night Oblivion to support I guy i…thought I liked?..I dunno? Internet mind sometimes

My set came in brutal condition (obviously rushed and had cigarette ash under the coating

It was heavy promo time so I was told instantly that it was:
*** their fault**
*** sorry as it is unacceptable**
*** It will be replaced**

I said no rush take care of folks waiting.
Now a guy won it in a giveaway and the replacement…? That mail isn’t even really addressed
This is how it goes.
Last Penon purchase I make in my life I shoulda fucking known.

You who are on the road

Must have a code that you can live by

And so become yourself

Because the past is just a good-bye.

Teach your children well,

Their father’s hell did slowly go by,

And feed them on your dreams

The one they picks,

the one you’ll know by.

Don’t you ever ask them why,

if they told you, you will cry,

So just look at them and sigh

And know they love you.

  1. You choose a company for IEM

NO
A “Reviewer” might, an Influencer never would.
What if the Company said “No thanks” and then the reviewer is critical of that companies item in future?
The rep could quietly or publicly imply the person is salty about being turned down.
That would suck…and be embarassing. I know 2 reviewers who tried (i even know about that proves my point)

  1. You call and offer cooperation

NO
See answer to #1
*

  1. You find the graphics of your favorite IEMs

Not sure what that means tbh

  1. Tweaking the tuning here and there so it’s not completely identical to your favorite prototype IEM

KINDA
If it is a “re-tune” then the Company approach was “Which set do you like and how would you improve it?”
That’s a re-tune, and the definition is clear so no argument there
*
*

  1. You select a driver configuration that is different from the prototype

NO
If it is a re-tune you are not doing anything beyond what word implies.
If it is a new config, it is not a re-tune…it is an original project
*
*

  1. You are advertising this IEM and your name must be in first place

KINDA?
*
The reason a company approaches an influencer is to capture some of their market via a tuning that appeals to that audience.
*
Silent Collabs have been going on since 2017 and many sets that are popular from $20 to $1,500 were tuned or advised and yeah…almost 7 years of that.
*

  1. You get a good commission because you gently copied some good IEM

NO…and YES
*
Good is subjective and the margins in the business are known to few, you can call it what you like when a company finds any way to gain profit.
Re-tunes might be what you are talking about and what I said applies.
A new set is not a gentle investment by the company
*

  1. *Everyone praises you in HFGF for how go**od *you are and how good your IEM is

NO
It’s the opposite really, folks bust out the magnifying glass on a +2dB 5khz peak then ignore same thing on whatever thing they like, and the seller they like just sent them. Go to Discord and watch a guy say “Hey guys…lets not critique KZ lets help them” then turn around and word fuck a collab. Jealousy is a helluva thing mang…if you cant see it…it’s cuz you ignore it.
*

  1. With the money you earn, you buy a good IEM

NO
In 2018/19 I raffled 5 of the most expensive DAPS in this hobby and 5 guys got $3000-$5000 DAP’s for a $25 risk (price of raffle). That was before Mele.
I was never a bumb nor was Crin…but maybe a Collab takes someone from rags to riches someday??
Could happen I guess.

So it has been going on for almost 7 years but some get into feelings when they see a logo.
The quality of goods in the budget realm and beyond are DIRECTLY RELATED to 2017-2019 (Silent season) and Pt 2 which was same thing but public
*
*
Differentiating between Influencer and reviewer is done by Companies
*
Olina sold more 2 months ago (not sure yet for October) …than most Hot sets being hyped.
Facebook, Discord, Here and Headfi…you’d never guess that. But the flks on one platform are also on others…saying same thing multiple times to the same audience. Companies count sales not thumb ups and “Yeah me too”'s. The other 95% of the market not hanging daily on Social media will always decide…and many will come back on 11/11 for first time since last 11/11…and they don’t give a shit about anything but sound. Thank God. It is still all about the music for the majority

Goddamn ok lol. Well I’ll wait for the reviews but scarlet mini is stretching it for me already budget-wise so I’ll jus sit back and hear what others think haha.

Just confirmed it’s same as grand Maestro ($2,700)

That has more drivers this has 2 huge DD’s (14.2mm)x2 and 3 BA

This hits harder…as it should w/ 2 huge DD’s

It has 2 DD’s?

Another isobaric design or just something like the Legato?

He’s gonna write up the design and goal. Has a mono sub driver and a kinda crossfeed for center image…goal was an actual 2.1 system theory in mini form. I’ll let him explain it later and copy paste in here.
it is fucking crazy.

Pay your mortgage and bills, enjoy life with your partner or kids (if you have them), and pass this one. Don’t sell your kidneys for it lol

Oh trust me, I’m not that crazy lol. Once I get my scarlet I’m going to focus on other areas, maybe try out some IEMs that might interest me in the $300 range but I would rather build out my listening system now. Complete my vinyl playing system, maybe add a CD player too. And I would rather upgrade speakers first before going on the next upgrade step in IEMs.

Be crazy. But a Vinyl setup is the longer term invest.
