Price went up a lot more than the Konoka. Dunno if im right, but is that bass shaker really sitting behind the DD? Doesnt seem like a good idea…

I have never heard a Konoka. Just loved the demo vid and maybe new stuff to play with. I’ll get em someday
Someone in my server got it and apparently the bass shaker is really not felt much in regular volumes. You need to increase it to ear piercing levels for it to have a noticeable vibration.
(mine is on the way, another 3 weeks I guess though.)

They musta had it cranked in the demo vid. The haptic driver should work better if they let it…maybe they doubt the power of gimmicks??

How did the kinetic bass of the Fir Xenon6 feel? I noticed you didn’t make a vid for them so I assumed they weren’t your cup of tea, but I think you briefly mentioned them once for having pretty big bass.
The graph on them seems like the bass would be monster, like a TOTL tuned Focus EDM.
It made no percievable impact. I wanted to love it. It was bassy but that driver didn’t really vibe my ear at all…unfortunately

It’s hard to describe, but it’s a really wonky IEM overall imo. Would agree that the bass was really not what I would have expected given the marketing. From my experience has a lot of bass (although not as much subbass as I’d want), but it doesn’t really slam like I’d have wanted it to. It really more reminded me of a somewhat too high tuned sloppy car sub type of bass. Yeah it’s a decent quantity, but it’s peak is too high up, it’s loose and bloomy/flabby, and doesn’t really hit you hard like you’d want it to.
Not to say it’s all bad, but it’s a very unique sound, and there were some aspects I found pretty interesting like stage, but overall just wasn’t for me and my chains. I already have a mmr thummim for a more bass focused fun set that I thought was kinda a step ahead of the xe6, although different sound and presentation for sure

Same here for the Xe6 it all comes down to fitment on that one and for my ears there was no wow factor

Man, that build is CLEAN! I wanted that white Strix 4090 as well, but it’s way overpriced in Norway. Like 600 dollars more than other 4090s… Even looks stunning mounted horizontally, IMO. Congrats on the build!

Everyone so absorbed with stomping on KZ cuz they are begging for it…
I saw someone on Headfi talking about how a DAP maker might barely break even on a $5000 DAP because of R&D
And that mindset is why 3 outta 3 collabs have suddenly fallen apart. I said this 2 weeks ago and it is now out in public.

Quite a drive-by moment from KZ there. I’m not a fan of companies that play the ‘whataboutery’ card.
As regards to collabs; On the one hand it seems KZ implies that working with influencers is a bad practice, yet they do it themselves…
