Oh yeah for the capacitors, if you want your iem to last a long time, look into x7r mlcc caps preferably 10% tolerance and u2j caps, also tantalum caps but use 2 tantalum caps in series. These 3 different caps will have your iem retain its performance over the years without degradation.
As for resistors, get 1% tolerance parts, these are easy to find, should be available in stores in your location selling resistors…
I usually order from sites that handle import taxes and VAT, like HifiGo or AliX, just in case. AliX shipments arrive at Hungary airport without detour because of some kind of contract with our gov or something, usually earlier than the due date.

The destroying of earbuds/cable/headphone/whatever is defective is increasingly common with Chinese retailers from what I’ve seen; the idea is that it’s cheaper to replace outright than it is to do shipping/logitics/repair in many cases on their end, and having the user destroy the defective ones ensures that the replacement is actually a replacement and people aren’t scamming to get duplicate items for free.
