Bad Guy Good Audio Rankings and stuff (under construction) (Part 2)

Controversial statement alert…collection… Today I decided to peruse my for iems that haven’t been listened too for a couple of years to see how far my collection has come. Only to find that the AKG N5005 actually smokes a large number of my midFI hybrid IEMs especially the hyped ones such as the Pula-02, penon Fan2, Kiwi ears Quintet, Mangird Tea and Tea2 and practicality all the Planars I own all 7 sets of them.
This was admittedly listening to Uriah jeep, Marc Coen and the blind boys of Alabama, Santana, Manowar Rush and Steely Dan but as I purchased these for £199 in the AKG firesale rather than the 1K original price they qualify as the best value without exception I have ever made in my 6 years down this rabbit hole.

Oh…I thought he might be…or the ie monitors in the satchels on top of the desk

I really have to sit in the corner, have a timeout and stop visiting here.
Just swore off any new IEM purchases this year, and ya go and post this. Aye Carrumba!
Must resist AKG N5005.

Brought back memories of nights at the Hammersmith Odeon.
Venue was a lovely 1930s cinema with upper balcony and held around 4000…that balcony would visibly bounce on a good gig…scary if your seat was underneath it.
Was a student at the time and we’d all pile in my mates dads car and go see who ever was playing…still got the programs and ticket stubs somewhere.
Iron maiden (original line up), Saxon, Whitesnake, Sabbath (rjd era), Motorhead, AC/DC, Rainbow, Scorpions, MSG, Thin Lizzy (last tour)…saw most of these more than once.
Fond memories.

Yeah, that place does get loud.

Saw Gary Moore at Hammersmith Odeon shortly before Phil Lynott’s death. Phil came on in the 2nd half of the show - was a blast. Was sat slightly to the left of centre stage. Was deaf in my left ear for about 2 days!

haha ah god that balcony I remember now, it shook when I went there years back. I didn’t know whether to jump harder or run away

Edit
I was on the left side of the balcony, having a good time so I think I jumped harder #asshole

Saw Thin Lizzy on the Thunder and lightning tour which turned out to be their last.
At the Hammersmith Odeon they had Scott and John sykes on guitar but bought on the old guard so , Eric, Snowy and Gary (no Brian for some reason, think he was with Motorhead) all on stage together.
Gary played Black Rose…that was something a bit special.

Oh shit…Lizzy…never had the pleasure…was too young…I had tickets to see Zep in '80

My friend Alex called me and told me to look in the papers…the tour was cancelled…RIP John

Returned my tickets for a refund because I had no money…if I had only kept them…would have been worth much more today…fuck

Kai said fuck no on his first slide. (He went down later)
She hit slo-mo so on a phone it looked like a wasted moment but on a bigger screen you can see his super duper short life fly by his eyes before he says…nope fuck this

I’m on your side of the aisle there man. Music culture wasn’t in my family so never got out to events much. Never realised all you have to do is just go. Nothing like a live venue to me for the few chances I got out. Classic Rock and some other important genres was just something I heard through the tv in the background and stopped discovering older western music when I got obsessed with Indian classical for a number of years. Many years of artists, music and stories to discover and enjoy.

I agree with Keesue

…and would add about music also. This thread is boon of constant discovery on different fronts. Lurk and listening mode activated. Music Discovery Torpedoes locked and loaded. When Hades lands, I’m gonna bother you for track recommendations to go well with it.

It’s like the star trek monologue…but music…music trek…yeh, I’ll go with that…MusicTrek :+1:
