Wanna say thanks to all of you.
The community vibe on HFG is unique in this hobby.
Discords are toxic (sorry man that’s all I see goin on)
Reddit is not as bad as Discord (never thought I would type that)
Head Fi gets trashed a bunch but it’s just an old model that over 20 years has become a nest for campers and is how sites that old evolve. No hate at all, nothing but love.
This place is special.
I always appreciate that and you folks

I am in a few discords and while I can’t comment on the toxicity I can say they are near impossible to follow unless you live in the rooms

That’s kind if the purpise of discord actually. Iirc it’s a chat service. Hence by definition, the goal is immediacy and reactivity. One of the drawback is you can’t/shouldn’t read everything.

Thanks and I agree @hawaiibadboy . Admittedly, I am more a lurker but do log on everyday and “check the threads”. Such a great group of people and a fantastic place to keep up with the hobby.

This absolute BEAST of a guitar player passed away and it truly saddens me, everybody knows he’s a legend but to me personally he’s the best there ever was. He’s the one that taught me the importance of TONE and DYNAMICS as opposed to technical prowess. If you don’t have tone, all your technique may well be wasted IMO. RIP Jeff Beck
