I’m familiar with the song. Just tested on my car head unit. My car system headunit is only a 14 band EQ. Can’t wait until my AudioControl DSP arrives for finer control. Cutting 2k on my headunit will pretty much cut the clap but, more the meaty part of it. Maybe your having the same experience I have with cymbals, hihats and electric guitars where the sizzle, clank and buzz become to present. On IEMs a dip in the 4k range helps or a nice roll off after 3k to 4k. In my car I have to lower the 3.15k and 5k slightly lower than it to keep claps and those instruments in check.
But this is only based on very small sample window. What @rattlingblanketwoman sent is showing it in time domain.
I recommend Audacity (available for Win/Mac/Linux). It lets you check the whole spectrogram + select particular timeframe which you want to analyse in terms of frequency response (e.g. you hear cymbal hit at 1:11s)

Thanks! I lowered these areas quite a bit already, it looks really strange in the DSP to lower so many frequencies that much. At 5k I have a dip of -9db. 2k and 2.5k even -12db or so
Still treble is not lacking at all…i guess my speakers are just super high resolving/bright to begin with (Brax Matrix, 3 way)
And yes I can imagine having the same issues as i also prefer the IEMs with safer treble.

Yeah, seams we have that in common, but i really don´t find EJ07m to be dark do you? For me it´s just the right amount.
OG Wu I would say is kind of dark and I tend to add a bit on top sometimes but can also live with its stock form.
UP is really an IEM that sparked my interested right from the beginning of my IEM Journey and I hope i´ll get to listen to one in the future…or even better maybe there will be UP v2, i could fall for that and just buy it blind

Your right I don’t find the EJ’S or the Up to be dark and still tons of sparkle and extension.
I just started calling them that because others say they are. And if that’s what people refer to warm and dark I am good with that. You want dark Penon Globe was dark. Bright Almost any Kinera from old.

I also think there is different kinds of bright because for example my D9200, which is known to be quite bright with tons and tons of details and zing is no problem for me anymore. As long as there is enough bass to counter that I´m mostly fine. Treble is a story for its own and there are many ways to tune it, some do work for me others don´t but if I can choose i prefer to wander on the safer side edging on the not so safe side

I saw he said car and assumed mobile, I use apps for room stuff, car, anything mobile, there are definitely more advanced paid apps as well

Nice I posted my GS AUDIO SE12 for trade on CAM see if anyone wants to trade for a set. I just can’t get my left ear to seal with the SE12 wierd.
Mahina did not wow me, great tuning though Bass texture of ej07m is better imho and more holographic.

It’s so fun to play around with all that different toys
To my girlfriend it seems funny how often per day I change sources and IEMs and headphones and am happy and occupied like a young boy with all of his toys
