GS is never talked about on here the last round of talk was way back when the GD3A was getting replaced with the GD3C/D

A little crazy that someone in narketing at GS Audio didn’t get that. If I had known I might have looked more closely at their products. My experience with the Fearless was so good (packaging, quality, fit, sound) that I definately would have considered the brand.
GS bieng a OEM brand probably puts most money on design and production and let’s thier dealers do the marketing.
If you kill your dealers by undercutting the prices by selling direct the results are typically and exactly what we are seeing with GS.
No more money being spent on advertising by Fearless or anyone else I can see and both brands go into a stagnant decline. GS is probably rethinking thier stratagy and Feerless looking for a new OEM that won’t give them the shaft.
Little storytelling for you. Back in the 1990’s I was wonking in this tiny car audio shop we did huge volume crazy pkace. The owners Dobermans stood guard at the entrance and the owner chain smoked weed all-day. Sets the stage for a Japanese guy who walks in wearing a very nice suit.

Denso-10 renamed from Fujitsu Ten. A Japanese OEM company making and development of car audio since 1955 many patens and technology was created by them.
Then he said his company will sell us Eclipse “Brand” car audio direct to us for great pricing for a exclusive time of 3 years to bring this brand to life.
He also said very clearly “after 3 years we are going to FK you over and sell directly” he said that exactly.
This car head units were beyond fantastic, features , performance and definitely in sound so we did and sold a shit tonne. We dominanted in car audio system sound compititions.
Alpine , Kenwood, JVC we’re all shitting themselves for 3 years.
Then Denso -Ten did a GS Audio move and started selling Eclipse car audio direct and 1/3 less than we could bring it in and sell it for. You have a choice either be competitive on price and make a little money or sell something else.
So we did Clarion stepped up and promised us that would never happen with them.
End of story for Eclipse 2007 RIP mabye Chris heard’s about them once in a while in Japan ?
Clarion going strong still.

Wow, excellent insight there. I did not know the backstory regarding GS Audio and Fearless but given your story/experience it makes total sense. Thanks much for sharing, very interesting.
I am somewhat “out of the loop” when it comes to the audiophile industry. I love music and quality music reproduction but between work and my other interests/learning (blockchain/#Bitcoin, emerging tech, and a fascination with macroecon and monetary history) I rely on this forum and Sonus Apparatus and the great folks like you to get up to speed when I feel the itch to upgrade.

Nice to have folks who get the business around here and not conspiracy nuts who think OEM is not the damned backbone of the industry,
That car Audio story was familiar as Digital Designs did same thing when I was doing Car Audio and security system installs. They were actually a sponsor of mine in IASCA comps. They decided to undersell their own authorized sellers and created a lot of bad feelings. Not only did they not sell at a wholesale they demanded all units in stock be elevated or not sold.
Rival shop was selling JL’s at 1/2 the new cost and most normies in the hobby have no idea that DD is indeed fantastic but JL had better reps and better promo and nobody was buying 10’s 12’s and 15’s at almost 2x the price.
JL exploded and DD is still a name most outside Car Audio don’t even know.
Clarion was my personal choice for HU’s for most of my life.

Oh brother the flashbacks. I would have back then seriously knee capped the punk who stole my Butler Audio TubeDriver amps and JL 13W7 but it’s in the past.
Car audio people have a deeper understanding of how hard it is to reproduce music in tight places LOL.
Now I play with IEM.

I still feel like the Mele has a place in the market if it got another run, it has a damned good fit, a good look (thinking about getting my lady a set with the ocean caps since she likes that look more than her gold ones I got her), and a damned good smooth sound that you can throw anything onto it and it won’t feel like you’re missing too much. Long live the Mele

It was selling good when they yanked it.
I said i was not going to do Mele II until Mele was played out so they straight up yanked Mele.
Cadenza actually sounds like a different set. Maka is a cheaper Mele. It is beautiful too.
Honestly the Blue Meles look savage. I don’t post Mele pics much though i see a lot on line. That pic just looked so dope.
Yes, Now that Mele is a discontinued set the Maka can come cheaper and for anyone who liked the Mele but lost or moved on but wants one…without a blue or gold cap, just gold flaking

I thought by the way you spoke about the Cadenza that it put a bullet into the Maka, like you thought it was going to be too redundant or something like that. Is the build for the Maka resin? If it is do you think that would cut down on possible moisture build up?
