Glad you finally got your stuff
Iām the ass hole who was late to the party but picked that Deuce up off eBay.
Heading out with the missus for the day but Iām gonna leave them burning in and listen tonight/tomorrow
What benefits do you find in burn in?
Iām in camp āit neither hurts nor helpsā. Just feel like itās not the type of equipment to befit from wear and tear of components.
Also, such a nice picture you took of them, sweet angle.
Overall some skilled photographers in this thread lol, enjoying the showcases.
It depends on the gear. My HEkse, everything tightened up, particularly the bass. It took about 100 hours, which is actually what HifiMan recommends. Iām always skeptical of such things, and I wasnāt counting down the hours, but I will just put headphone on (after having listened to it all day everyday for two weeks or so) and it will just be noticeably better. The difference isnāt always as noticeable, but I now do it by default and reserve my judgement of gear until Iāve had it in/run it for a month.
I personally donāt burn in my sets but if thatās your usual protocol then that stands to reason ā¦Iād imagine the HEKse drivers have way more āabilityā to burn in than a two DD iem does but who really knows?..but at the end of the day as long as you are finally enjoying the set, whatever it maybe, then itās worth it
PSā¦damn that Ebayer was quick with their dispatch Please note #FatFreq
Holy Moly, your cat is absolutely adorable!
Thatās fair then. Definitely agree with Ohmboy too. As long as you find something tangible for yourself.
This hobby is probably the most subjective one I know of, and itās not even close. And yet people are mostly cool about opinions of others.
I find it fascinating and personally enjoy this caveat of it immensely.
I really love animals, all kinds of animals . I have adopted several animals from shelters.
But now to the question - burning in some IEMs is real, but not in all. At least thatās my experience.
I donāt have an explanation why some require burning, while others donāt. For example, Hype2 doesnāt lend itself to burning, but Glacier and IE600 burn like the cathedral in Paris a few years ago ā¦
Thanks! I was a bit worried heād wake up and start chewing on the cable
Dennis thinks Iām spending too much time with my favourite dap the Onix XM5 Overture heās gonna becrealyy pissed when the FF Duece
That little pink nose kills meā¦ Animals just pull at my heart strings, man.
I should do a little photoshoot with my cat tooā¦ Sheās a feisty one tho!
This is the expression on my big dudes face right before he starts grabbing and gnawing.
Yeah share it here. Iāve got another one but that oneās harder to do a photoshoot with!
O.K., the best thing I have heard on Deuce is Country Core. I thought the production was decent for Bilmuri, but this IEM really shows it all off:
My chain is a little overkill, but it sounds good. Qobuz > SU-1 > Comet+ > Prelude > Deuce
Facts. My set just hit customs in new york after taking over a week to enter the system and move once I was sent a tracking number by FF
As another Duece hits ebay in the UK starting to get a little peeved that mines invisibility seems to be constant
This photo kills me. I keep meaning to ask about the Onix and get distracted by the cat.
So before I forget, how is the XM5?
Its the most sigular unique dap I own (23 at kast count) it has s depth of detail in the bass and mids thats astonishing. I dont know wether its the high Impedance but it adds something to most My iems that is beyond my other sources. Its a very analogue 2 channel stereo sounding dap. If an iem has the ability to project holographic stage it seems to amplify tgat quality.
Something as simple as the Simgot Supermix 4 sounds phenomenal on the onix Xm5 Overture where on the Sony Zx707/ Shanling M6Ultra/ hiby R8 thet spund fkat and boring.
Its my favourite purchase of 2024
The only down side is the 20,000 song limit
Edited to correct typo on the song limit
What do you mean by 20,000 sound limit?
