The resonator helps relieve the “etch” in transients. That is a problem with Planar at upper/mids treb harmonics and why elevated Planar are a no go for long term listens. (For me)
If Planar sounds unnatural there, this is a solution. If you don’t find Planar unique from DD or BA just keep the S15.
No i really enjoy my sets, this was on my radar for sure, its BA’s that bother me, i actually prefer the planar sets to what ive tried, just missing that DD dynamic and decay sometimes, but Planar res and coherency for Da Gamba is just unbeatable for me, i might have to put this back on the list
Don’t mean to overly self promote but posted a video review on the Deuce (still wrapping up the written version to post later). I ended up spending extra time in it talking about my CX/Customer Experience with FatFreq and being fully transparent about it. Chapters added so people can skip ahead to just the unboxing or audio sections.
I echo that the team are fantastic. They’re nice as hell, some great genuine people. I don’t think it’ll deter me from buying anything else from them but I’ll be extremely cognizant about expected delivery times or wait for stock fulfillment in other places. Unless direct pre-order comes with something like the SuperStage module (thinking the planar) at which point I’ll just wait patiently.
I did not get red tips. Looks like 1-150 only got the metal case, other tiers get one single bonus item but Hangout may have taken all the red tips? I’d be curious how they stack up but Dunu S&S worked out great for me considering the nozzle size.
I’m actually planning on picking up some Divinus Wide tips so I can remit back to you once I have. My other widest bore tips are the W1 (not that wide but probably my widest) and they work well and providing a bit more balance if that’s something you’re looking for.
I’ve tried them with the Tri Clarions which are the widest bore tips I have and I think they sound very good. Maybe leaning a bit too forward in the upper-mids in those higher volume times but otherwise, I think they’re great.
Fit is a bit weird for me and my ears though, so I opted for S&S tips and It feels like they fit better without changing the sound much. Maybe the treble and the upper-mids are brought down a touch but it’s a negligible difference.
I kinda need some recs. Got both the linsoul coupon code for the 11.11 sale and gonna use the 50$ one on S08 and some eartips (clarion and s&s probably) to meet the minimum spending. I still got the 25$ coupon with 60$ minimum spending and plan to get another IEM in the 50-60$ region or maybe two iem which totals to 60/70$ max. Any recommendations? I want a different flavour compared to the S08. Thinking about Kiwi Cadenza and Tripowin Vivace, or tangzu yuxuanzi or xuan nv, simgot ew200, ew300, ziigaat cinno, kefine klean. But is there any more interesting or unique iem in this price range? Sorry if a bit ouf of topic here. Thank you for the helps and recs!
I’m having a hell of a time getting the right fit. Is anyone using foam tips, and if so, specify brand and model please.
The stock tips (actually I have the red silicones - probably by mistake) don’t fit right…can barely hear the bass. This is typical for me and silicone tips. Comply 400 is my most fitting foam tip, with a couple iem’s requiring the 200. I even contacted Comply and asked about sizes…they don’t list sizes. Anyway, I am really anxious to hear the Deuce and see where they land vs my current favorite, Doscinco.
Yeah, I played it back a few times but felt I wasn’t too bad? At least initially.
But few days later (fresher mind and ears) and I do feel like I’m probably way more favorable or understanding then the situation may warrant and it can probably come with a lot of homerism.
But, I was taken care of so my mileage definitely varies here.
