As it adds impedance along the whole spectrum it does reduce the volume indeed.
Your DAP is a voltage source and any added impedance in line reduces the power delivered. Coming straight from Ohms law

As @pylaczynski said, it will lower the volume and in this specific case it will also increase the bass shelf.

Love what you do for the animals tho regardless.
My kiddo did entrepreneur ship when she was about 8 and while everyone was selling awesome things, she wanted to help out animals so everything she earned she donated to the shelter. She is a huge animal lover and she just makes me proud every fuckin day!!
