Bad Guy Good Audio Reviews (A Million views?) Part 3/4

That is an interesting way of saying it… honestly, I’d say I agree. To my ears, it’s probably the best bass I’ve heard under $500, but the rest of the FR is a bit bland with nothing special to my ears.

They’re a blast though, I must admit.

I’m pretty confident in the following statement:

The reason I was approached twice was to generate capital.
Fatfreq X HBB is probably the most natural pairing in the history of collabs.
When I stated it would have to be the cheapest set they have released to do the collab the focus went from brand exposure to profit.

Once that profit turned into an exceptonally large number the chance to take the brand to the next level (via profits) to be invested into new equipment or simply to pocket, became the sole focus
(replacing , just simple extra exposure and a bit of a capital bump).

Whatever happened, took place in August.
The tone of our dialogue shifted slightly.
I was asked to do a vid and not use Crin’s Hangout links because they wanted to maximize the sales from orders (they give sellers better prices that eat at their own per unit profit)
As I type this, that was actually when this changed.
I never did that video.
I never shared that with Crin.
He’s a businessman and may have known, and they existed in the same building and i didn’t want to make drama so just …didn’t do the vid. But yeah, that was the moment (in hindsight)

I approached them after the 2nd missed deadline and the 3rd deadline was approaching and asked for 1% v.s. $1 because i had already been putting in more time on multiple platforms fielding inquiry about missed deadlines.
I was met with pushback to hold to original deal. I argued that a 1% v 99% split was a gift and they had already failed to hold to their agreement by missing their own self set deadlines.
If they wanted to walk away? Just fullfill existing orders, and discontinue selling immediately.
They accepted the 1%.
Payments have been on par with user experience.
Late
with sales numbers just written.
No breakdown.
No spreadsheet.
No data.
It’s essentially a trust us bro situation and I have reason to believe the actual sales numbers are greater than being stated. A person at a factory said as much though unintentionally in answering another inquiry.
I thought doing a video on Youtube telling people not to buy from the brand would elicit a response of some kind.
The silence and lack of communication with people who have already paid is on a scale I have not seen before.
Telling people that rewards were impacted by numbers of sales sent to sellers does not match the original backers reward goals. It said NOTHING about them being in competition with group buys.
That doesn’t even make sense.
I had no input on those goal rewards. Was never asked. (anyone seen the hat?)
There have been zero mails to me related to delays or reasons for.
If there was any interest in being a good ransparent partner I would have been kept in the loop.
My logo name and image as a basshead have essentially been used.
I think that is clear now.
The treatment of customers has been fucking insane.
The lack of an apology is actually a big fucking deal to me.
I know you all want your shit but as an Autistic dude, the lack of ownership of the problems and a heartfelt apology really fucks with my head.
Shameless and fucking embarrasing is what it is.
You wanted to use me to generate capital and were unprepared for what that means.
What that requires.
Lets call it 15,000
That is absolutely dwarfed by 4 other collabs right off the top of my head.
Other companies got a shit ton more orders and fucked up a bit (Olina cards) but nothing close to this disaster. You were ready for the money but not the work.

There are 3 parties in this relationship so lets review

  • Customers

Fullfilled ( a # nobody knows but you)
Partially fullfilled/botched orders (a seemingly huge/abnormal number)
Unfullfilled (a seemingly huge/abnormal number)

  • Partner/ Collaborator

Partner in a 1-2 million dollar project who took a symbolic % for customers and cost. Has never gotten any form of a breakdown. It was offered (of course) to be included with sales # but…it never came. I am being told #'s that don’t match.

  • Primary

Recieved all the monies in advance. Has failed to fullfill fiduciary obligation to customers and collaborater in numerous ways and has failed to be transparent about those failures.

So about the factory
You guys made one huh?

Thank you for talking about it and not abstracting yourself from all this.
This actually means a lot.

With each passing day they make it more and more impossible for themselves to find the words for it. But they will have to one way or another.

Looks about right…

What are the chances that that new CFO stepped in somewhere in July/August?

I don’t know squat about tax laws in Singapore but that action constitutes a federal offense here in the US punishable with incarceration in addition to monetary penalties

What a bunch of fuckers…FF in a nutshell

I don’t know anything about their factory, their firing the rep, the anything.

“Just a heads up/FYI”

Just going to drop some more out of the ordinary tracks here I’m enjoying tonight on the Deuce. @hawaiibadboy Deuce is definitely my favorite colab of yours to date and going down currently as one of my top 5 releases to date. Seems like between your collab and Singularity I’m a sucker for fun well tuned DD only set. Just pure fun with SLAMMING bass with just the right midbass dip to really let the fun staging this type of music likes to play with shine through the bass.

Lets go on psychedelic journey throughout darkest places of outer space.

Amazing set.
The stuff you can get for reasonable amounts now is crazy. It’s a wonder anyone pays over a $1000 for ANY earphones in 2024

Damn, well played.
The whole thing appears very shady and greedy. I really appreciate you speaking out and revealing some details.

I’ve started to experience an issue with my Deuce in which the left earphone drops connection and goes silent. It seems to be caused by an insecure connection of the 2pin. I have yet to try to remove the stock cable, because I wanted to enjoy the IEM for a few days before risking a break by removing it. Has anyone else had this issue?

The lack of an apology irks me.
How they handled the customers
How they managed the partnership
all bad.
Just can’t get my mind around the who and why re: Radio silence.
It’s too late.
They can see the mails/messages/discussions from irate people but stayed silent.
I would not be running my mouth if they…were running theirs.

I have seen people talk down collabs for very foolish nonsense reasons.

  • It’s not needed

The fuck it isn’t…
Me and crin have been advising companies for several years on tuning. The jump from spaghetti on the wall to dozens of great options all the way down to budget is directly related to advice and support.
Lots of stuff looks a lot like my target…it’s not coincidence.

  • Let the professionals do their jobs

Ahh…ha…ha…ha. GTFOH. See my 1st point above

  • Bias

I wonder if anyone noticed a surge in activity from people supplied by Hifigo in last 2 weeks on here . Everyone knows this hobby is a hustle. Bias? Really? I prefer the obvious being stated than people hiding behind narratives that their review history clearly does not match. Bias…I can’t believe that gets touched in a subjective hobby filled with college students trying to make a quick buck and middle aged men going through mid life crisis on camera :man_facepalming:

Biggest actual issue is jealousy.
What used to be clear bias for or against a brand or company (this is fine if stated publicly…being human with emotions is a thing. ) has now become personal to the point that you can predict who will like what because of how they feel about the collaborator. Those folks need to get the fuck out of the hobby yesterday. They show their ass…and it’s clear and everything else that is less obvious should be doubted. If you cannot control yourself when essentially spending other folks money…gtfo of the hobby

The 1st actual “issue” in all of this has never been stated afaik?
Using an influencer to raise capital for future projects like a Kickstarter is used. That means you don’t care about the fundraiser project as much as the future it funds.
This collab fits that.
Once the we reached our goal is announced on a Kickstarter everyone knows the quality of care is about to fall through the floor.
Sounds familiar

It’s a shame. Can’t trust anyone these days :smiling_face_with_tear:

That’s a great point. The products have been becoming better and cheaper because of collab input rather than companies chasing blindly on their own. I never thought of it that way.

That shit makes it really tough as an average Joe to trudge through everything just to find a genuine product. Too many contradictions to account for. I’m still working through that process, as someone new to the hobby.

I got several running through my head

Like watching The Go-Go’s performing in their 80’s…ya gotta know when to hang it up

for instance my hearing redlines just shy of 11k…so I could never be a reviewer because I don’t know the first fucking thing about EXTENSION

I’m sure the same applies to a lot of so called ‘reviewers’ my age :index_pointing_at_the_viewer:

Oh silly…I have the crib notes:

Extension:
The thing that is not a dealbreaker if your main plug sent it to you.
OR
The thing that IS the unfortunate dealbreaker if it is sent by your plugs rival.
