Bad Guy Good Audio Reviews (A Million views?) Part 3/4

Yeah, it’s the Topping G5 :+1: Plenty of clean power, convenience of BT, and I can run line-in to it from my iPod or any other DAC I choose.

Not to forget the most satisfying volume knob

Love G5, still hope they work on G6 with app support and some sort of desktop mode to not use the battery all the time.

Yeah, the volume knob is nice!

I do wish the bt connection was more reliable (sketchy beyond like 3m), and that it had a basic pause/play/next track button to use in bt mode.

Yes i never use Bluetooth on it, it also picks up EMI noises from my phone but not everybody reports that, i think it has to do with weak/instable signal in the house.

Could use an update for sure but the sound it puts out is exceptional and my favourite of all the portable sources I have tried so far

So I’ve been Listening to Punch for 8-10hr casully. By far one thing stands clear, the bass is best in the $500 segment. I haven’t had this much fun listening to Classic-rock and 90’s hip-hop. the highs are smooth, Guitar strings are super clear, thanks to the Est the extension is crazy good. Kickdrums are :woman_cook::kissing_heart:.
Punch feels like it is made for GNX.
Thanks @hawaiibadboy, Other than Olina & Jupitar, Punch is becoming my Fav Colab in yrs

Damn these look beautiful. Are they power hungry ?

Maybe, They have 98db@1kHz sensitivity.
I’ve been mostly running them through dawn pro & topping G5. They sound fine. I’ll have to check whether or not they improve on Desktop stack.

Thanks for the trust.
I appreciate it.
My personal fave of the collabs.

Great job there! He certainly seems to be understanding as well!
Restraint is best when its taught very early on and applies to almost every aspect of life!
I have seen a fair number of adults who have no restraint, no control over themselves, and its not a pretty sight at all, to say the least.

Absolutely feel you here! I had my run in with some health issues and despite my already moderate consumption of the things I love i had to completely cut everything out, but as a wise man once said “it iiiiss what it iiiiss”

Indeed, respect for your elders number one, respect for your family/home/planet, nature and it’s wildlife, respect other people, their opinions and beliefs but above all believe in yourself and the things you’ve learned and the music you’ve enjoyed :peace_symbol:

@Toecutter has a way more extensive collection than I do, or will have, but yeah we tend to dig the same sets. The bizarre part right now is that my two most listened to are probably Arcadia and Sivga Que ( think Olina SE with a beryllium driver ). Combined with shipping, they were under $240.

I almost jumped on that, until the KA17 came out. I am always torn on that pick, but I also have the BTR5 for bluetooth, and keep looking at the BTR17.

The bass and clarity really seem to shine with the Punch. Do you feel like it gives the same level of fun on more laid-back tracks, or is it all about that high-energy vibe?

Who would’ve thought you could get such great sound for under $240? I’m definitely intrigued by the Sivga Que now.

It’s a shame how many parents struggle to understand there’s a broad space between anything goes and physical abuse. I’ve talked to so many people who think it has to be one or the other, to the extreme, and have no concept of what discipline actually means.

EDIT:
Oh, small update on the Deuce situation. They never responded to the adjustable impedance adapter addon dispute (it was a separate dispute), so that refund’s being processed. No idea if I’ll actually get it with the shipment or not. Guessing not.

Hi Chris. I am curious what will be on the list, when are you doing the next auction? Thanks

I find it works well even with laid back tracks: Scarborough Fair by Simon and Garfunkel, or Fleetwood Mac (Landslide, The Chain), Case of You by Joni Mitchell. The details come through so nicely with the ESTs and treble tuning. And everything has body from that supple low end.

:rotating_light: still deep in the honeymoon phase  :rotating_light:

I found them less power hungry than I was expecting.

They sound good even from balanced output on the Qudelix 5k (~240 mW), where I’ve got the output level at about 20 mV, compared to about 11 mV with TSMR X and Estrella. Lots of headroom to the 4V max, but then again I listen at pretty low volumes (<70 dBA)… another reason I’m drawn to bassy or U/V sets in the first place.

Hard to compare closely, but I want to say the bass just gets that final bit of refinement with the Topping G5 (1000mW), which is pretty much on par with any desktop amp worth its salt.

I don’t have a lot of Artists that do super laid back songs. Peach Pit, The 1975 both are somewhat laid back. They sound very good. The bass gives both body, est energy doesn’t let them feel like a slop.
You can tell me what is your fav laid back tracks. I can listen and let you know
