I did not know that. Thank you!

I’m also Tip and cable rolling tonight

Finding some good synergies but always coming back to Tri Clarion on all my sets, it’s just that good.

Only for Legend Evo I recently switched to Spinfit W1 for better seal and BCD goodness, it also helps to bring vocals a bit forward in comparison.

Really curious about that Zempyre set, i imagine it to be a better tuned Legend Evo for a friction of the price

It’s so amazing to see all of you tip rolling, makes me happy, such a crucial aspect and a very enjoyable thing for me always.
I wish more companies would include some premium tips with their mid to high tier IEMs.

Been meaning to say, ErKil is always coming in clutch when posting here. Kudos man, always some great info and an enjoyable read. And we probably even wouldn’t have learned about the Bears shop situation if you didn’t share the thread here before it got taken down back then.

Has FF reacted in some way @hawaiibadboy? I assume not, cause Deuce is still up there front and center on their website.

This outperforms everything else i have tried so far. (for my taste)
Super clean, controlled and powerfull :muscle:

Tonights finding:

Cadenza 12 is quite safe, way safer than i remember it to be…I mean it´s a long time ago that i listened to it for the first time but its quite obvious…don´t know if its my ears or my brain or if Letshuoer did a silent retune allready before the 2024 version officially came out

The first set i demoed was a few weeks before the official release so I really wonder if they changed the tuning after many of the first reviewer said it´s a bit too spicy

I quite enjoy Mark Ryan´s EQ settings atm (stock is great too, don´t get me wrong)

But then again it is late in the evening, I am listening less loud than before and also drank some fly agaric lol  (Happy solstice!)

Not only still up, but still listed as a preorder…

Sorry to cast a downer on your anti-fii0, but I have had numerous portable headphone amps, currently have the K11 R2R amp, and the M9 DAC from back in the day, and every single product has worked flawlessly. The K11 is so good I have staved off the purchase of a higher-end R2R DAC.

Not a downer at all. I’m downright envious.

Speaking of tip rolling, I’ve recently found success with these Hiby Waveguide tips on my Fiio FA19 and Final A5000 IEMs. Very comfortable with the A5000 and helped lessen sibilance with the Fiio FA19.

Alright, got some more time with the Deuce. I’ve been doing side-by-sides with my other IEMs, but primarily the IER-Z1R and my tweaked Legato which brings it closer to the Scarlet Mini for tuning. (Vastly different price-points, but wanted some basshead options to A-B with)

  • Duece is actually a really good match for the Apos Gremlin (tubes) which helped alleviate my gripes with the harshness I was experiencing. Really solid now.
  • Really good for movie trailers and cinema in general. Where my Aful MagicOne has been on podcast/youtube duty for its particular presentation for voices, the Deuce is THE movie pairing.
  • D’Angelo is chef’s kiss.
  • I’m now really yearning for a solution that marries the kind of sub-bass elevation and physicality this set brings with the quality of the IER-Z1R.

The nightmare situation with FatFreq blows, but not all was lost here, with my situation in particular.

I have tested different BCDs of this type, and all of them at 250Hz have this peak.

I can remove this peak at 250Hz with a 220uf capacitor, but the whole tactility of the BCD driver will also lose its meaning.

I contacted the BCD driver manufacturer’s engineer directly, unfortunately they can’t get the BCD driver loud at lower frequencies from 20Hz to 100Hz.

Here is the BCD driver graph itself

We just have to wait for them to do that. That’s a good question.

Pretty soon I’ll be testing a 14.2mm DD that has no peaks at 250hz but has a vibration like a BCD but not as sensitive.

The 250 Hz peak from the BCD isn’t really there in the ears though, atleast for any of the sets I’ve tried. It’s a measurement artifact of the conduction energy to the metal coupler I think.

Hmmm, I’ll try removing the metal roof and testing. Thanks for the advice.

You can just run a sine sweep around that frequency in your ears to test whether you hear any peak or not.

I can’t notice a peak on Kinera Loki. It’s vibration sharply peaks at 170-190 hz, but it’s super seamless sound-wise when running sweep from 20 to 400 hz, nevermind actual music listening.

Exactly right! I use generator tone and I also printed a 3D model special for testing the BCD Driver

Please don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t complaining at all. I really like my ze51b.
It was just a naive idea how to try to make things even better. I saw recently a graph of BCD on ali that peaks at 150hz and thought that maybe there are more options available now.
The funny thing is that it looks like the driver you’re using in ze51b.

I listened to 200hz-300hz 20s sweeps with ze51b and I can a rise peak between 240hz-260hz.

I use Huayunxin H011. The graph above is correct, but the one on Aliexpress is not quite accurate, because the graph above was sent to me by the manufacturer.

Everyone is using it now Thieaudio, Apevoix, etc.
But I point it properly towards my ear and use it to its fullest.
