Bad Guy Good Audio Reviews (A Million views?) Part 3/4

As a drummer myself, I aim for quantities of bass inline with an un-mic’d drum kit; sounds more real to me. For bass guitars, in my head, I require the amount of low end I’d hear in a practice room I’d hear from a bassist playing along to my un-mic’d drum kit. Many would consider this bass-light, but to me and my experiences, it sound super real.

I will however enjoy a headphone/IEM/speaker with lots more bass than what I perceive as “correct” if it helps instrument separation - Deuce taught me this.

There are three types of headphones where you’ll almost always see these pads standard. Studio monitoring, DJing, and ANC-focused bluetooth. My personal opinion is that they suck for all three, but they almost always isolate well. Isolation, I think, is one of the biggest reasons they’re picked. I swap them out every chance I get.

Signature X I mentioned is a perfect example. It launched with those thin, hard, shallow pads. Sounded good enough, but someone convinced them to start including the big thick pads and man… what a difference. Not just in bass, but in comfort. Can wear them for more than a half hour without it leaving sweaty red grooves around your ears.

Pretty much this (what you said :+1:)

My highest praise is saying something plays like I’m in the room with a good bassist or drum mer.
No compressor or limiting or any production.

Specific reason the U12t, Andromeda and M9 love baffled me for years

U12t too fuzzy sounds like a compressor and reverb. Andromeda sounded like post prod on the treb.

Have you considered checking out budget speakers? Not a lot of speaker guys that arent allergic to bass from what I have seen.

(Get the Swan M10 Plus if you will.)

Just bookmarked these myself. I’ve started getting the dreaded yellow light power supply fault warning on one of my iLoud MTM monitors, though for the moment it’s holding up. Those are excellent, but I don’t do much studio work anymore and miss having a little sub in my office for fun music listening. I take it these are the ones you use? How does that little sub perform?

I had the OG M10 model from Swan for the last decade. The M10 Plus I just bought a few days ago and just got today and im damn impressed. The sub in the Plus (technically a midwoofer like the OG), lost a tiny bit of extension as there is slightly more rumble on the og but it has (if you want to with the bass knob) a LOT more punch and texture to it.

I agree that companies need to be transparent with the BAs they’re using.

What about the dynamic drivers?

I know if it weren’t for HiFri, and some of your videos where you crack IEMs open, I wouldn’t know that certain IEMs are using the same DD, and there are times that knowing a set has the same DD as another set would really help a lot more than simply referring to what materials are in it. Lord knows there are a gazillion ways a graphene, or LCP, or DLC, or PET driver could sound… it would be much better to make parallels to other sets already heard/in existence. Yet alone the whole debacle that is “beryllium” [coated] and how that can vary ridiculously for what they are describing even before what sound to expect.

Well, even if you put the exact same driver from same maker in same metal shell with same angle and distance to end of nozzle and have same target…
Olina and 02
You still have stans saying the one that cost 3x as much is better.
it’s the same thing in all ways.
When people can’t take their bias and put to the side…no real discussions can be had.
It’s amusing .sad and pathetic.

Man that was good times. Me and 3 of my friend bought olina . I didn’t have o2. So I borrowed 1 from a friend for 3 days. A/B ing them over and over again. Both sounded same, for me and for my friends. We laughed soo hard at these “reviewers”

I left 3 Discords and cut off several people I kinda trusted over that.
Not about the earphones or support.
It’s about not being able to or not caring to turn off the homer simp(Son) switch when talking about how others should spend their money.

If you say weird spacy shit to say an apple is not an apple…maybe just quietly homer and mark out quietly and stfu.
Everyone saw that
Everyone still reminds me
And it sold a shit ton.
Some are trolling most were deadass about it. Less observing Discord circle jerk team blowjobbing has freed up a lot of time (side perk)

@hawaiibadboy just watched your volume S unboxing vid. I have studio4, RSV & Twilight by Softears. Studio4 is my fav all BA. So obviously biased here.

I’m pretty sure they said that They design their own BA & make them in some factories. So probably E-Audio/Belsing makes their BA, just assumption on my part. Softears never confirmed who makes their BA. They always said customised BA. Moondrop also uses Softears BA in some of their Sets.
Probably @Rikudou_Goku is more help than me

A lotta people say crazy theory about you, jay, Zreviews. I’ve been watching you for more that 6 yrs now. So I know what sound you like & Dont. I have broken relations with ppl because I don’t believe in cables, burn-in, custom BA, MO money means MO Good.
I can say with certainty that Thie Origin can stand tow to tow with a lot of 2k to 5k sets and outright beat them while costing significantly less.
And it’s not like non-chifi companies are putting Unicorn Cum in their sets(Mike is only Guy I know who does). So why does it matter?
Chifi means questionable QC… Really bro… 2024 Alone showed us every company is FKing with the customers.
Ask all your non chifi friends to make a better EJ07 or a better Studio4… They just can’t. So stop simping for companies
Only thing that matters is what drivers the set is using, whats the tuning & end sound is like.
Ppl were pushing shit in FB & YT was fine. Abd now they are here and posting regularly. Fk these Company HO’s man.

Just wanted to give an update on the damaged deuce cable. I took the advice of a fellow member here and reached out to fatfreq. Luckily, it took a few days but they replied. They offered a replacement cable and didn’t require the damaged cable to be shipped back, but they “would appreciate” that I ship back the damaged cable out of pocket.

Only company That I know of who takes care of customers like crazy is 64audio, 5 yrs ago to Today, they never fail. My u4s had some issues on the left side they sent me a set for Free without asking any questions.
Other one is ShenzhenAudio they took care of the Hexa & zero red for me. They are more of a seller soo…

Just ignore the “would appreciate” the failure does not need to be studied since it’s obvious.
Sorry this whole fiasco bothered your music gear journey

64 is pretty dope. Before i had any subs they treated me like a VIP. I really like their business style. Just my experience but some companies were only nice after I became known. 64 was always great/fair/doing customer service.
Some reviewers who had deuce issues got resolved quick and other non reviewers got continuously ghosted.
Coincidence?
no…

I appreciate your efforts brother. Big of you for all your apologies, but definitely nothing against you. I don’t own a bunch of iems but because of you. I at least I was able to enjoy this iem that may not have been possible without you being involved.
