Explanation: Scanning the skies for galaxies, Canadian astronomer Paul Hickson and colleagues identified some 100 compact groups of galaxies, now appropriately called Hickson Compact Groups. The four prominent galaxies seen in this intriguing telescopic skyscape are one such group, Hickson 44.
What would be an upgrade from FiiO FH7? I mostly listen to ballads/acoustic and a bit hip hop if my scarlet’s are not around.
I listen with FH7 to anything, a bit hip hop and a lot of acoustic/vocals. (adele,dermot kennedy,beyonce)
Looking for something like FH7 which is very detailed, wide soundstage, excellent and forward vocals/treble, clarity in vocals and has some deep bass/low bass (for hip hop if my scarlet is not around).
For reference I have fatfreq Scarlet for my hip hop bass heavy tracks (21 savage, gucci mane, lil baby)
Odyssey, Volare, Pilgrim, Oracle OG/Mk3 would be upgrades to FH7? budget $200-$600
I won’t rec pilgrim. A lot of ppls Pentagon connector went bad or developed low vol in left or right side. Tea pro & oracle mk3 seems like better rec
Edit - Pilgrim og recently selling for $229 in hifigo. Some ppl told me about their stories regarding pilgrim, repairing is a hassle. If musicteck is option then sure. I’ve mostly heard good stories about musicteck
Thanks for heads up. That company has been plagued by QC and customer care. Jay’s Audio felt that as did I. I think just leaving them outta rec’s is best move.
I’ve got a Pilgrim (normal one). I would not rec it for allrounder use. It’s great on the technical side of things, but the treble can be pretty damn spicy for my ears. (40y and can still hear up to 16k)
@hawaiibadboy It’s funny, but it’s cool that you write that you’re biased.
It affects people. I bought Simgots because they were high in Jays’ ranking, I bought Tea Pro because they were high in your ranking.
In the meantime, I listened to Estrella, KE4, OH700VB, Dynaquattro, Punch, I was thinking about 5+2 - but none of them appealed to me as much as Tea Pro - it’s a really solid, clean and mega-engaging sound. Powerful bass kicks with incredibly good treble.
I also have KZ Zenith - I think they’ve learned their lesson and for a low price they offer good tuning with 1DD for a fraction of the price of Tea. I’m very curious about DX1 - whether vocals are able to sound better than Tea Pro.
I wish I could comment on Tea Pro vs. DX1. I haven’t heard Tea Pro, but vocals pop on DX1.
Though, for me, nothing does vocals like BL03. I remember first time I put them in my ears, Kacie Musgraves… If I was a vocals guy, I wouldn’t listen to anything else.
I’ve been listening to DX1 for the past 48 hrs and I will say that that drive is super capable. Performs at the £500 mark, IMO. The imaging is standout.
I wonder if the midrange comes out in the DX1 as it does in the Shanling Tino. It becomes more musical, but when listening quietly, I prefer the V tuning.
Managed to train a little this morning. Keep missing deadlift day because of travelling for work so I decided to do some this morning. Unfortunately my form started to break when it started to get heavy because I felt a little beat up and felt that my left arm was sore. Must’ve done something to it renovating the house yesterday.
I hit a Sunday wall. Was like time was dragging. A minute on the bag felt like 5 New week tomorrow so hopefully get a good nights sleep and feel refreshed tomorrow
There will be more than enough reviewers hyping it up, I’m sure. Might be a good one to use for listening to DIS tracks, though (I’ll see myself out now…)
