Bad Guy Good Audio Reviews (A Million views?) Part 3/4

Ah, that “anti-aliased” treble description is perfect—I totally get what you mean now. Smooth without losing edge is such a rare combo. And wow, your description of the BC driver effect has me even more curious—especially that chest-tingly Gaga moment :joy: Also, loved the Control example, spot-on for testing spatial audio.

“Guess I got what I deserved
Kept you waiting there too long, my love
All that time, without a word
Did you really think that I’d forget
Or I’d regret
The special love I have for you
My baby blue”

Excited to hear your opinions on the Astral. It should be fantastic.

Thanks for the reviews as of late, you’ve been on fire. The coping in the high-end comment really got me thinking. XD So much coping…

Definitely something to remind ourselves of. PS Had to think of that Ice Cube song (although that’s called "It was a good day’ IIRC).

He has one just like it…same size.
He was probably wondering what his buddy was doing hanging out without him

Fun session this morning. I trialled some of my older upper body exercise that I did during the pandemic. Great activation at fairly low weight; I think I’ll integrate them into my loop :ok_hand:

I think these will be one of the first Chifi headphones to get mass appeal

Sound Quality is great :+1:

I think that title might go to the Hifiman Sundara.
Harmonicdyne hasn’t exactly had any memorable releases so far imho. Maybe the Zeus?

Did they crack the code finally?

Personally I’m more interested in the Shanling over-ears, but you hear next to nothing about them and nobody in my area has them on demo. Unfortunate.

Man I love my Susvara and HE6sev2 but their build quality in midfi is hot garbage.
Open back planar is the King IMO but just so ghetto

Chris if you’re interested closed back wise then SJY Audio’s Carbon Horizon is getting some serious love on here and elsewhere, some of the best planar bass without bloated/muddy mids and great staging by all accounts

…not my go to reviewer but Josh seemed well impressed…

That’s the code that needs to be cracked. Get on par soundwise and just offer better build quality.

My HE1000stealths are okish. The HE6sev2 is just tragic. As good as it sounds, that original $1800 msrp is downright criminal. Even the $370 that I paid for a refurb unit is balancing on the edge.

Edit: forgot to actually make my point.

I mentioned the Sundara since that been one the default recommendations whenever someone asks for a cheap planar. Regardless of buildquality, I assume that the amount of sold Sundara’s should equate to almost half or more of Hifiman’s turnover.

One of the best shows and some of the best and most fitting music incorporated as well!

Man that show was a classic. One of the only ones I loved more than Sopranos…Breaking Bad was really dope

So they do hand out badges after all. Reminds me of my meditation app, which keeps track of your streak and makes you want to extend it for as long as possible (until you miss that one day :sob:)
