Bad Guy Good Audio Reviews (A Million views?) Part 3/4

I’ve being using AI to help me find artists, sometimes pretty niche like “in the style of x but not with y vocals or x themes”

I use a combination of wiki-hopping (read about a band I enjoy and see what other projects are associated or have featured members as session musicians), discovery through Tidal, and sometimes even things like curated Youtube channels (guys like http://www.youtube.com/@666MrDoom who just puts up Metal albums from lesser-known groups and acts, my old buddy http://www.youtube.com/@phodie3s who ran radio mixes of D&B and put the tracklists in the description of his uploads, etc). Then of course there’s always our intrepid members here putting up what they like in the Listening To Tonight thread, lots of gold in there!

Looking up other works by the producers of music you do like is another way to uncover new content

Got linked to this.

Seen it before but forgot to bookmark it then.

No idea. I just tend to fall into stuff blindly. Keep an open mind. Found lots of great music that way over the years.
I’m currently tumbling down a synthwave rabbithole thanks to some Group B / Pikes Peak video’s.

Good session this morning. Time to eat after my 16 hour fast. Managed to spend some time with these before I go get lunch.

The first time Moondrop has impressed me. These are a tough drive, pushing my CMA800i to 80 %. I haven’t tried them on a DAP yet, but I suspect many would struggle. Haken’s ‘Eyes of Ebony’ sounded so spacious. The cymbal work sounds so natural on this can. I likely will EQ a bass shelf for them at some point but I’m not missing it yet :ok_hand: I’ll get deep into my test tracks after lunch :smiling_imp:

I went to e earphones a couple days ago and bought a DAP I never knew existed. Almost bought a Dx320 or a Cayin N6iii (my original target :dart:) but got an A&K …which I swore I would never buy again.
Ears said it was the best with the PMG APX SE

Bro, that steak looks killer.

Got a PB 'n shake as my first meal of the day. Healthier than it sounds. Bright purple from the handful of blackberries :ok_hand:

I rate my DX340. I prefer it sonically to every other DAP I’ve owned. Though I used it as a transport half the time

Loved RS8 but it was too warm for all my favourite IEMs.

Where did you get the stand ? They come in black?

I came close to getting a Lotoo GT2? But grabbed the black sheep nobody likes
I fell in love with it. Reminds me of the Calyx M

I’m already knee deep in Peli cases, otherwise I’d definitely order a couple as well.

Does the placement of the USB C port cause any practical issues (my DX260 has it on top as well which is a curious choice, though understandable if used with a PC or something similar as input)?

Got this one for myself as well… No regrets

Bought 2 more today :+1:

Bit of a pain. Would prefer all I/O on the bottom but that stand means the player is static during use so it hasn’t really negatively impacted my use of it.
