Bad Guy Good Audio Reviews (A Million views?) Part 3/4

Ai is wild and still has a long way to go
Using this for pics of people and pets who have passed away seems like its best use right now

Well, if you want to dip your toes into ā€˜ai uncanny valley’ stuff. There is a guy that made and ai anime girl who streams on twitch, is capabable of playing games, engage in banter with people in chat and was recently put into a toy car that she could control (which she promptly used to run people over)

Soon you might not even be aware that you’re not talking to an actual person anymore. And that scares the shit out of me. (tldr. I’m not a big fan of ai and llm’s. It creeps me out)

The one with the Daybreaks reminded me of those janky stop motion programmes from the 80s. And the one where you animated yourself is classic AI motion creation (AI or Arnie as the terminator )

I’ve never delved into Neuro and Vedal but wonder to what extent it is actually AI. The resources poured into and required for Chat GPT and assorted ilk are vast and they still end up making basic mistakes, so having something like that feels unlikely (but like I said, haven’t looked into it). Regardless, I’m with you on AI and LLM and not just because it might take us down the path to Mike Judge’s Idiocracy…

I’m out right thereāœŒļø. I was still teaching Japanese kids when I got into the hobby. Covid killed that permanently. Anyway the Japanese kids saw a Moondrop box once and it was a cringe moment to hear 10 year old’s say ā€œki moiā€

Never met a girl over 7 years old who got into the same kind of drawing Moondrop used

Thankfully that bizarre mashup that had kids cringing is nearly washed away. Shitty company ran by a gang of creepy people and are now being fronted by Hifigo essentially. Same folks for all intents and purposes

If you like images of girls intentionally drawn to look like they are near puberty and feel offended….fuck you . The once so called ā€œBest company in Chifiā€ abandoned you cuz your broke.

Today is the first time I played with any of this though a couple of times I saw something on X like a giant snake claim or something and it almost fooled me till it snatched a person off a boat. That high speed motion portion triggered something in my brain :brain:. It was off.

Society particularly social media really doesn’t need this right now. I suppose there will never be a good time to use another tool to try and fool people

I came across this one the other day:

Neatly encapsulates how to spot fake vids IMO. The part about how these animals would have issues actually doing this IRL shows that we can be fooled all too easily. So yeah, 200% with you on social media not needing this right now.

I don’t think there ever will be right time for things like these. There isn’t enough tinfoil in the world for all the hats we need when you have to start questioning everything you see. It’s tiring and really bad for your metal health (which is already in short supply if you look at how some people behave these days).

Thanks to internet hugboxes people are starting to forget that ā€˜otaku’ is not a badge of honor, but an insult.
I liked anime… when I was a teenager… I also went to a convention once. I noped out. I just don’t understand how you can idolize something or someone so much that you start adapting your life to it.
It’s ok to like something… just don’t let it dominate you…

I feel it’s been like that for the longest time (perhaps even forever). Look at how hardcore soccer fans feel like the world has ended when the team they have invested everything in loses its license (happened over here just last week) or how others idolise particular artists etc. In our media driven society (media dominated) it all becomes so visible and the means to obsess over something or someone have grown exponentially.

The bigger problem IMO is that most people don’t even bother to question what they see. They just swallow it hook. line and sinker. Makes a good education even more important whilst, at the same time, educators can’t even get them to become proficient at basic things like reading and math…

His lawyers probably felt it would be more lucrative to sue. That and a double standard where one can say any- and everything about others but feel wronged the moment the shoe’s on the other foot. As for the larger community not rebuking him: it’s probably a sign of the times that this is deemed normal nowadays, unfortunately.

Those fish look so well crafted and surprisingly fragile, even from a distance. Year or two ago, I saw someone live stream a festival. I have never seen participants in a festival genuinely enjoying themselves like that before (it was actually infectious).

Thanks. Top floor. It’s for Kai. It’s in a trust and he gets it when he turns 21.
He can live, rent or sell. This and College tuition is what he gets. That’s it.
