I imagine if an angry looking Kazakhstan turned up at a canjam where fatfreq had a stall/booth they’d pay up pretty fu*king fast
I saw this. Really interesting!
I think you are correct
I am toilet training Kai right now but another mind bender for ya
Those 4 ridiculous points are being written while holding his money. Most countries around the world would not let a company retroactively amend a contract. They, of course, prior to me sharing this, totally stopped even replying to the man
His money is now their money and there isn’t shit that guy can do
From the guys who refused to address and apologiz for the Deuce shitshow demanding a written apology is crazy crazy shit
EDIT:
I wanna shout the folks watching in silence.
You can Kee Kee and say “I know these folks, I don’t want any trouble” and walk away. Shake their hands and pretend all you like.
Does Dimitry have kids? Can a $10k loss break him and impact his family?
I bet you don’t know
You don’t have morals like you think you do.
Moral compass doesn’t have a pause switch.
Yours is just broken
Just saw this and got reminded of Hbb’s logo so thought Id share this here…
I’m not a person who believes too much in cables for anything other than aesthetics and comfort but uhm almost $6K for a cable… God damn…
My logo was created by a guy called “Oldman” iirc. He was clearly inspired by ancient headgear. I was totally cool with that.
That’s a very pricey cable with margin of profit in the 5,600 range. The acessories and cable and manpower combined are around 300 (being generous)
Yeah you’re right 300 would be streching it… Plus stock cables do seem to be getting better slowly on sets… Atleast build and feel wise…
Asking this much for a cable should include a lab report on the materials used in the cable from a respectable independent lab. (for example SGS, Bureau Veritas, AmSpec, Saybolt, VPS, etc). Along with a breakdown of the manhours put into fabricating such a cable.
Seeing how much people are scammed in the oil business when it comes to different grades of disillates. (If you fill up your car, are you getting what you are paying for? In many cases, the answer is no. Try find out where the meter is positioned, how much runback is there in the hose from the meter that you are not getting etc.) This is why those labs and surveyors exist, to combat the cowboys who are trying to scam you.
So, where is the analysis Effectobowski!
That makes too much sense. You’re talking Science in a hobby that is closer to abstract art than anything lol like Science
If any company had the backing of any kind of Science they would use it immediately and repeatedly and I’d be fine with that.
Beats a whore on Facebook or Headfi saying a cable brings up the vocals or tames bass bleed . Post the impedance curve and stfu shill
I’m not talking science. I’m talking intentional scamming and thievery. I used to work for Bureau Veritas and got to level 5a IFIA certification with a 99/100 on my exams. (level 5a meant I could handle all liquids, chemicals and gases. The highest level, 6 would have made me a teamleader). So I know what tricks people pulled to scam you out of your money to sell you something for more that it’s worth.
These days I work on the other side of the field. Now I am the one trying to squeeze wallets and pull the wool over the surveyors eyes.
So everytime I see one of these cables and the claims about materials used or purity of the materials used, I am instantly thinking that they’re full of crap. Especially because nobody back up their claims. You’re not getting graphene or platinum or silver or gold or even 7n copper. You’re getting bottom of the barrel stuff. And even if those materials are present, you’re probable talking trace amounts. Maybe less than 1/10th of a percent.
So, scamming & thievery. (And that makes claims about cables changing the sound even funnier)
I had an opportunity to talk about this topic with a Chinese supplier who supplies nearly all premium cable brands including incredibly Brise Audio which I buy Later ( the convo was in 2018) a person who said they worked with them claimed they were jacking prices over 1000%.
This ties into the Fatfreq robbery. They said he bought FF and sold so cheap it damaged their business and pricing model.
I got dragged for holding 1 set of earphones. I did it because my wife ( then girlfriend) got a phone call. I’m still pissed to this day. However it was my fault. I asked for the loaner. I held it hostage my feelings don’t allow me to make my own rules
FF can’t suddenly hold over $10k and just keep chugging along. Return that guy his fucking money. There is no community in this hobby. It’s a business with extensive unannounced assets and associates everywhere. The cable industry is a wing of the nasty robbing your own “community “ pattern.
100% agree with you. And they added ‘limited quantities available’ to stoke some FOMO among their faithful I bet
Oh yeah definitely… To " show the highly limited number of sets" the implication of which may make others exp Fomo or even think that having this is a status symbol… Same kinda nonsense these high end smartphone companies doing rn…
I once read a comment on (I think it was) Reddit where the poster summed it up quite nicely. The gist was: you never hear that a cable makes an IEM sound worse, only better (he was referring to the type we’re currently discussing), which was meant to say the whole improving sound thing is BS. I am actually surprised no one has claimed that certain cables ‘smooth out electrons’ thereby making the sound richer… Cables are for sure the wild wild west…
Things like this are a good reminder that there are more important things in the world than $5000 cables. Also: that is one large backpack he’s wearing

Some companies have gotten hip to this and say they have special cabling in the IEM
That doesn’t do anything for all the fools who forgot the ubertonium bottle necked once it hit the IEM
The lil guy’s backpack looks dope!! He lookin on point too!!
50¢ for the inner wiring and 600$ for the cable Pretty sure stand up comics can get good content just seeing shit like this in our hobby
The $0.50 vs $600 made me laugh. The sad thing about it is that even the store where I buy a lot of my gear (great service etc.) holds the opinion that cables can do all those magical things
Or: the stand up guys will be all ‘hell no that’s too whack, I’m not gonna touch that’
