Bad Guy Good Audio Reviews (A Million views?) Part 3/4

If TRI I3 MK3 could fit 10mm DD/10mm Planar/1BA inside a fairly small shell, I have faith that more exclusive brands can cram in a 14mm planar for bass, 2 BA for mids and 2-4 ESTs for highs in a large shell albeit.

Those 10mm planars are likely the very small round types, the 14mm ones are HUGE.

Tangzu put 14.2mm DD with 6 BAs and a BCd together. Planar unit is a little bigger than dd but whatever.
Also was sniffing some graphs and found Elise graph of 622b Ti having same bass as OG

Yes but that shell is also huge to fit all that. that is trade off.

Nah.
It’s quite obvious to the ear and not an illusion by the upped treble
You can hear both. in 808 drops or cymbal harmonics and vocals you can hear one or the other emphasised or not. I kinda wish my Ti had the OG bass tbh. It wouldn’t need tube mode on C9II to smooth it a tad if it had that much low end.
I have unit 88 so it’s not a early ver changed later like can happen

Blood pressure is a crucial medical indicator of overall health; however, determining whether your reading is good or bad can be challenging. How do you know if 128/78 is better than 124/82? I asked my cardiologist this, and he said that the way to determine whether your BP is healthy or not is by determining your Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP). To calculate your MAP, simply apply this equation: Dias +((Sys-Dias)/3), from your Systolic and Diastolic readings. The baseline is derived from the optimum reading of 120/80, which is 93.33.

E.G

Dias +((Sys-Dias)/3)

= 80+((120-80)/3)

= 80+(40/3)

= 80+13.33

=93.33

In the example 128/78 versus 124/84, they equate to 94.7 and 96, respectively, with 128/78 being 1.4 above optimum and 128/84 being 2.7 above. Therefore, the BP of 128/78 is the healthier reading.

A healthy reading is any number between 13 points above or below 93.3, (80 to 106). The closer to 93.3, the healthier the result.

Chris, your reading of 116/83, equals 94. This puts you at a mere 0.7 above optimum.

My cardiologist recommended taking three readings and averaging them out, and using that figure.

There is a whole set of rules for when to take your readings. If you are only taking one reading per day, then basically, mid-afternoon, in between meals, not after vigorous exercise, in a quiet, relaxed space with no interruptions or distractions.

As someone who’s had Premier League hypertension issues (>300/>180), and still requires twice daily monitoring, I know all too well the importance of keeping on top of these things.

I hope you find this useful.

I have a new inspiration for improving my health…

Thanks for the info

Look at handsome!!
My guy is hitting the terror…ible 2’s late and he’s making up for it. After total toilet training he now uses it like a weapon and doesn’t go if he’s pissed.
His first effective protest tool
I know my blood pressure was elevated yesterday.

Yeah I took my 2nd reading an hour after training in sun and it was higher. I gotta remove silly variables like that.
I really appreciate it.

That’s interesting. Over here, the guidance is in the morning, same conditions, and two in a row to calculate the average.

As a general rule a persons blood pressure will be lower in the morning and higher at night. Hence why you should take it in the middle of your waking day.
Furthermore, it is raised in the first hour or so of the morning because your body raises your BP to wake you from your resting state.
My doctor says I’m an anomaly because mine is high in the morning and low at night.

Hey, I say this respectfully of course, ( If I have understood what your doc has said right) I don’t know why your doctor said that BP should be higher at night and low during the day cuz acc to all the guidelines, AHA guidelines, European Heart Journal guidelines, and JNC classification and guidelines, BP should always be more in the morning and lower as the day goes by and the BP at. BP at night should be around 10-15% lesser than BP in the morning. ( This is the natural day and night cycle)
The reason for this is your body needs the higher BP in the day to perform your various different activities and it lowers normally at night as your body is going to rest.

There are some rare exceptions to this rule in certain conditions but what I’ve said above is the general situation of how most of our bodies work.

My bad. It was not my doctor, it was the hypertension clinician who told me last week how the cycle ran. She may have got it wrong, or I may have misunderstood. I’ll asked the doctor next week as I’ve been summoned in following my annual blood tests. Never good!!

Unfortunately, they only summon you in if there is something untoward!

Dope video on the Asteria. Looks amazing. I saw a video from like 2023 where you talked about the Asteria, it’s been teased for a long time. Looking forward to the full review. Not many guys who buy high end iems also review high end iems, props for that. Thank you for your contributions to the Hobby!

I’m hoping to demo at Can Jam, and maybe get depending on a few things. All the guy are saying this is really special sonically, I hope that you enjoy it.

I thought about you and this thread the other day, when my wife was like hey put that on the top shelf. I laughed then had to explain why it was funny to me.

Sorry to ask a random question…

So I have read to never use an unbalanced cable with an adapter and plug it in to a balance output in an amp.

I also have heard it’s ok to use a balance cable and connect to an unbalanced output on an amp. It will just convert to unbalanced signal. Is this correct?

It’s confusing so was hoping for clarification

In short: yes. Unbalanced amp to balanced cable adaptors are safe. There is also unbalanced cable to balanced amp adapters that work safely on given equipment, but as a rule of thumb it is best to avoid this.
