Nothing wrong with being a mama’s boy — it just shows you had love at the foundation. Really great seeing you share things like this here, it adds so much to the thread and makes it more real.
As a big fan of transparency…thought I’d share
Am selling off the Storm as ASTERIA makes it a not often used set
That’s more than transparency, that’s almost sharing their trade secrets. Tip of the hat to them. Isn’t this the second time you’re selling the Storm (IIRC)?
Hello everyone
I haven’t been in touch for a long time.
I’m fine!
I am closely preparing for new releases.
I’m currently working on updating the shell.
Now I’m going to use a new 12x6mm BCD driver that plays low frequencies well.
Next, we plan to use the new “xMEMS Lassen” driver in all the following models, which should be available soon.
The video shows the old and updated building
Are you still planning to fill up the five ‘infinity stones’ slots and then decide on three or is this going to be the first one to get eliminated (even though there was still one slot to be filled)?
Storm Cp622b Ti and PMG APX are going to find other homes.
Asteria and Fugaku are staying for a while/forever
Ah did you end up getting a Fugaku? Still my fav set a year later.
That’s like spring cleaning Joking aside, CP622b Ti doesn’t surprise me given how you said it differed from the OG one. It might sound weird but I kind of feel the Asteria deserves it. It seems to have made good on its promise, appears to have some technological innovations (I’m saying appears because I’m no engineer of course) and their transparency is admirable for such a small brand (actually makes the price look more reasonable than other sets that seem to be expensive for the sake of being expensive). Hope some of that tech will trickle down to other sets they’ll put out in the future.
Yup.
I thought it graphed almost like a V but it has such good control it sounds like a U with great mids. Bass is fantastic.
Was going to keep PMG SE but it’s not getting ear time so it’s time to go
who tf is responsible for KZs marketing?
Tips are already included with iems…
Maybe they’re trying to imply the tips have previously been counted as a hidden expense?
Hello boys, hope you’ve been well
Need to catch up with the hobby to see what’s going on lol
Asteria looks amazing, and great that they didn’t forget about sound too. Chris is even selling the Storm again because of it, crazy lmao.
Odyssey 2 is such a cash grab imo lol. But honestly good to see Crinacle’s ventures doing well.
As for personal journey, set out to see if sources can make a truly big difference, as I was somewhat sceptical for various reasons and going by some people’s experiences.
And they absolutely can, insanely so lol. All scepticism evaporated. Don’t know anymore how some are claiming that it’s insignificant…
A while back got myself a Questyle m15i, and it drastically changes the sound of my TA Origin. Wild. I still preferred my Dunu DTC 480 in the end, as it’s my perfect endgame sound paired with the Origin. Won’t bother you with the comparison details unless somebody wants it.
But there’s no denying that difference can be outrageously big.
Won’t go on a rampage though buying all kinds of sources lol. A very happy camper for a long while. But yeah, wanted to share.
Been lurking here often. Always good to see you all on this cozy internet corner.
Comparison still remains the thief of joy
Sources make a difference for me but not so much that I don’t enjoy them all. If I don’t enjoy it I don’t keep it. Pretty happy with DX340 and a couple amps cards just cause the legacy cards are cheap…and still sound fantastic in their own way but the DX180 still sees more ‘risky’ use and it’s way more pocketable and Qudelix 5K if I need as small as possible.
The comparisons, for me , keep it all grounded…and it’s fun. At the end of it, placebo is my biggest obstacle…I think. When I use the switcher and get everyone all to the same volume…It is wayyyy closer than prices might suggest. And dammit I cannot consistently hear what I “believe” is the best sounding player when I do a blind set up —with the help of an assistant.
Truly I am more happy that I do not hear the big shifts, that others claim. That rabbit hole is avoided.
The kind of funny part is if I could only have one, it would not be the Cayin…even if it does have the slight edge…the DX180 is my favorite player to date, second fave in this lineup …the newer R3. My older R3 get the risky use…and it looks it!
Insane that the $30,000 IEM has the driver type that most often offends me or as much as Piezo’s
Crazy hobby.
Those guys don’t even tune stuff they are like abstract artists.
Best parts are the 3-line description and hair+dust on front photo
