This somewhat reminds me of the fake diamond mats (actually simple soda-lime glass) which I see at the dollar store. Yet it doesn’t since the dispersion index of the material is so really low that all we see is white instead of different hues for the facets. This strongly suggests plastic facets instead of any type of even the cheapest glass.
It literally looks worse than a grade schooler’s arts and crafts project. At $30000
Amazing.
The crooked connectors, the cable that looks like a generic $10 Aliexpress offering, the slightly misaligned shellparts, the glue residue between those shellparts, the rough finishing, etc.
What a thing of beauty. This must be worth at least $30. Those extra zeroes are most likely a typing error. I refuse to believe otherwise.
Oh, and getting photobombed by a dirty sock in the last picture really helps to upsell this iem.
They might be going for the ‘vintage’ look here? If it were already April this could have been a legitimate joke but now it’s just a plain old joke
This entire hobby is pure comparison. Agree with you, and often go through my collection to remind myself and just purely enjoy.
The placebo is so devious lmao. Was surprised when I took a test about lossless vs 320kbps mp3 lol.
What, $30000 is basically free… you should be grateful to be in the same time period as this exquisite piece of auditory magic!
(satire)
The craziest thing to me is how it doesn’t even seem to be even trying to justify its existence. “Yep it has a silver shell, and 17mm driver. Give me money.” Completely lacking in the the elaborate, verbose audiophile speak that one comes to expect in the multi kilobuck space.
I know I shouldn’t talk bad about other brands, but with Rhapsodio I can’t tell if it’s a social experiment or if they genuinely believe in the product. I don’t even know what’s the worse of those two…
If this had been any other website, adding ‘satire’ would definitely have been necessary (and have led to you being permanently banned from the rarefied air that is being inhaled there ). Based on that listing, I’d say they believe in the price tag first and foremost (as well as some people’s willingness to fork over a college fund for their product).
That cable looks like something they’d use in a hospital to get some oxygen in through someone’s nose…
I’m 100% convinced it’s this cable with custom hardware:
https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/1005007187192719.html?channel=twinner
Possibility is 99%
Also that’s a recessed 2pin term on the cable but the $30k IEM is flush 2pin
You really shouldn’t do that with any set but a set that cost as much as a car should have much more attention to detail
That’s kinda chaotic and embarrassing
Sure looks like it. Perhaps they’ll come up with a $10000 upgrade cable then?
Looks like it matches them quite nicely!
You’re right, do look like they’re related. And the FiiO set seems to have the better build quality. Might want to rethink their pricing, could easily add a zero there
To put things in perspective, that absurd IEM costs the same as 500 pieces of the FiiO FH11.
Five-Hundred.
And it is made to order. The FH11 is readily available…
Yeahh that’s what I was going for.
