Copy-pasting my post on Head-fi to share my initial impressions. Just collected mine a day ago. Source chain: Spotify (Free) High Quality or Youtube (watching videos of live performances), Jm6 pro dongle, stock cable, Dunu s&s eartips (just prefer the fit).
My library: Rock (Queens of the Stone Age, Rage Against the Machine, Rolling Stones, Led Zep, The Who etc), pop, EDM, Kpop.
Not an audiophile, so I may not use the “standard” terminology.
Bass goes very low, especially noticeable on EDM and some pop tracks (that were prob made with digital workbenches and not real drum kit or instruments).
Vocals are good, neither too in your face nor recessed.
Crash, Cymbals hi-hats are all a bit too recessed for me. would prefer them more even with the rest of the drum kit.
Electric (lead, rhythm, bass) guitars lack a little note weight for my preferences.
Regardless of the genres i listened too, i could pick out every instrument/part clearly (some softer) and nothing was muddy or obscured.
I would say they are very good all rounders for their price, and special at EDM, non-acoustic pop (and possibly electronica, hip hop but that’s not in my library).
As a bonus, because the treble is quite soft in the mix, you can turn them up really loud and feel some really heavy bass.
I’m enjoying my music with these. Thanks Chris and Fatfreq!
