I told them it would sell 5000, it’s heading to 7000 and beyond now even with the chaos.
It’s a fantastic set going against a headwind created by poor logistics and planning
For example
150? 500? I think they were testing the waters and doubted so they did the small goals.
I understand the caution but then again I don’t. It’s a sub 250 Fatfreq and a collab with a person who’s been hyping their brand.
There should have never been a kickstarter like goal/rewards program , it just adds more stuff to pay attention to and increase their workload.
I placed my order for the Deuce on July 24. Later, when I enquired about, and decided to pay extra for a 4.4mm balanced jack, they said I was among the first 150 to order (woohoo!). Much later, I enquired again about shipping, and the next day (Oct. 8) my order status was showing it had been fulfilled (though I was informed I was no longer among the first 150 to order, so woohoo retracted). Interestingly, despite seeing my order status as ‘fulfilled’ Oct. 8, they said I could still specify case engraving by Oct. 10… that should be quite the trick!
Anywho… the whole shebang seems to be in limbo, as the shipping link (sf-express) says no such waybill ‘has been collected or shipped for 3 months’.
Now I wonder whether I’ll live long enough to enjoy the Deuce, as I fear it might not reach me during the current decade.
mine said that for a good 2 days before it changed, I think the shipping peeps are a bit slow on it or something, there’s really no telling. I think the fulfilled appearing is more of a “we shipped it” rather than “its at your house”
I placed my order on July 24th on the Fatfreq website right after seeing Chris’s post in the community section of his YouTube channel.
I had never made such an impulsive blind buy before (and I’m still happy I did).
After the delays that we all know about, I received the notification that my shipment was on its way on October 3rd, although the tracking number didn’t work for several days.
Finally, on October 10th, the tracking number started working, indicating that the package had been passed to the international shipping department and that it was on its way, which is still the status today.
I chose the standard shipping, so I will continue to wait patiently for it to arrive, and at least the tracking number works in my local post courier website.
I hope everyone can enjoy their Deuce soon!
On another topic, what do you think of Ziigaat’s strategy to saturate the IEM market between $200 and $300?
Ziigaat x HBB Arcadia: 199 $
1 DD Ziigaat Topology diaphragm + Knowles ED 29689 + Knowles RAD 33518
Ordered mine pretty close to that date, on July 26th (FATFreq direct). I had assumed I might be in the first 150, but never got any kind of contact so just accepted I must’ve missed the window. I got the shipment email on mine a couple of days ago, but it’s still not showing info.
I also added an adjustable impedance adapter as a promo add-on, and figured I was probably shooting myself in the foot there on account of that making it a non-standard order. I haven’t seen that add-on order reflected anywhere since, so at this point I’ll just consider myself lucky if it actually arrives with the Deuce.
I’m very patient, but it always baffles me how companies neglect such an essential part of doing business. Even if everything else goes perfect, this will leave a bad taste. You just need to build in some time into one person’s schedule to post regular updates letting everyone know what’s happening and addressing the loudest concerns. When you’re radio silent like this, it makes people nervous, and for good reason.
I hope they learn a lesson from this and have someone at least partially dedicated to communication (beyond just CS responses) in the future.
They used to make IEM for several brands.
They use branded drivers and not “custom” trust us crap.
More options for customers are always a win…for customers
This was October 12 email from Linsoul. I ordered with them July 31. I’m in the USA and tracking shows cleared customs at JFK. So maybe by the weekend I hopefully have the set in ear !
I have a couple HBB colabs and love them, so this was a no brainer.
Did I mention I’m female, 65 yrs old at that !
Love me some classic rock, a small dash of hip hop, and about everything in between.
Welcome to HFG.
Thanks for your trust, glad we connected by our music library, as it should be.
This hobby really needs more variety in the community. (Gender, age, etc)
The people who oversee this forum are older/ married and take no shit.
It’s a good spot to talk about music if you ever choose to join in.
Thanks again for the trust and hope you enjoy
My Deuce has been delivered in the UK, from FF directly.
Felt like the best way to test them out is with Polyphia’s latest album, guitars are clean, bass and drums hit hard. Coheed and Cambria next which was the same and plenty of room for the vocals.
Extremely happy for a blind purchase, and worth the wait (not that it bothered me).
I mainly used 17track to check. Got the tracking number on the 9 October and it got scanned on 11 October but that was pretty much just to say it had left Singapore.
Royal Mail didnt have any info until it had left the country either. I ordered on 26 July if it’s on a per order basis.
It took some time to get any tracking but once it did it was super smooth, so just try and be patient and I’m sure it’ll get to you
Man they look gorgeous, a bit like a stormy sky. Also, the metal puck has real heft to it. I’m pretty sure I can crack someone’s skull with it. (Btw, for the engraving I ended up using my first name because the character limit and standardized text made my other options obsolete)
I’ve read some doubts about build quality, claiming they feel fragile etc. Honestly, my Hype 4’s and P8’s feel much more fragile than these. Also, comfort is excellent! But those tips that were on it… not sure about those. But hey, there was a set of Tri Clarions included and those are great tips. I’ll probably settle on the Softears Liquids as I tend to do with most of my sets.
I’ve only had them in my ears for abt 30mins, but I can already tell these are tons of fun. (have not tried the adapter yet). They do seem a bit powerhungry imo.
So far I’ve tested with these tracks:
So, you’ve got all the bass you’d want, but it’s really well controlled. It doesn’t feel like you’re rolling around in a bass-swamp. It never distracts from the other frequencies. So far no sibilance or treblespikes. Vocals (male) seem ok, nothing special though. Not the speediest set out there though.
BUT, most importantly. It passed the Cash test.
This song will always be the final judge for me. If you fuck this song up, you’re going in the trash.
i didn’t even get a tracking number from Royal Mail.
My tracking disappeared once it left Singapore but “shop” suddenly showed it as out for delivery on the day it arrived so hang tight.
