Bass Gods Approved

Probably because this is an audio enthusiast forum. Dubstep tends to have massive brick walls. Another reason could be that a lot of tracks have bass, but don’t get low (if that makes sense).

Opening of this one is very nice:

@MazeFrame for me, modern dubstep stopped being that enjoyable when brostep showed up, which to me, sounds to me like robot porn mashed together without any melody or rhythm.

I discovered dubstep around 2006-2007 and I found that these seemingly simple songs, that were using dub / reggae samples, a few effects and A LOT OF BASS, were very powerful:

But, as you can hear above, the songs were not that “easy to listen”, so I could listen and enjoy only a few of them at once.
That changed in 2009, when Froggy Style from The Widdler and Evolution from OSC hit me like a brick in the teeth and a baseball bat in the face:

Here are a few others that I really enjoy:

(I think these are enough for now)

That is a nice collection of Dubstep Tracks there.

I got out of Dubstep (to an extent) in 2013-ish. Found myself a new home in the deep caves of Drum’n’Bass, Crossbreed, etc.

mmm, that Obsidian song has enough bass to make me sick. Up to daily listening it goes.

here are 3 dnb songs that I keep turning back to:

and especially this one, which is really close to my heart:

may I change the tune?

how’bout some stoner-doom-christian-Romanian-orthodox-Christmass-carol-metal?

btw, for non-Romanian speakers, the name of the band is a mashup between Doom and Romanian for God (Dumnezeu)

I can recommend anything by Ghostemane really, If your into that type of music. Personally, I prefer his older style compared to now.

Can also recommend Terror Ried, Ramirez, Shahmen and night lovell.

24 string bass or guitar (depending on your bias) or just a down tuned harp. :joy:

All you need for bass, is a big drum.

I’m more into industrial/dark techno. Definitely a fun genre to switch to from drum and bass or dubstep, it’s usually a bit much for the uninitiated tho.

Techno in itself is not a mainstream genre. I like it though (then again, I am german)

Yeah techno, well, electronic music in general, seems to be more popular in Germany. From Sven Vath to DJ Dean to… even Rammstein calling themselves techno-metal or “dance-metal” lol. Tunnel Trance Force obviously, etc.

I’m from Canada but I really like electronic music and trance so yeah I know this heh.
