BASSHEADS FREEDOM IEMs Quest

Hi there man….Ok, ive did similar thread in the past but it make 3 years ago and i can’t remember both email and password i use at the time, anyway, my audio hobbyist name is change on headfi for NoBordersAudiophile too, while on Facebook it’s Erik Ikomori.

I’m founder of Bassheads Freedom-Hifi Freedom.

And while i’m not 100% of the time basshead, i do adore big bass sounding IEM with proper technical performance that avoid turning this bass canon into muddy fest.

So, the goal of this thread is to find and share about CAPABLE BASSY IEM with at least 10db bass shelf boost, can be boomy slam or hard punching mid bass, can be for thunderous rumble lovin or eardrum damaging kick hit pressure, can be warm, dark, crisp or bright U-V-L-W shape balance.

Can be budget KBear Rosefinch or kilobuck Firaudio Xenon6.

Can’t be for dominant bass hater, i think it’s evident!

Goal is to have fun and find old or new gems.

Right now big bass IEM i truely find exceptional are:

-Hisenior Cano Cristales
-Tangzu Wukong
-Penon Archangel
-ISN Sora
-TSMR Shock
-TSMR Armor
-TSMR X
-Soundrhyme SR9
-Soundrhyme SP01
-Penon Turbo

On waiting list their this new Harmonic Empire Zhang liao that seem promising (1dd2ba1micro planar-175$)

Now will bass hit or slam hard enough?

The Dunu ITO seem excellent and is quite praised on BHF too….very tempting! Any thoughs?

I’m still haunted about Firaudio Xenon 6 unique bass experience….and never find anything similar….at more rational price.

THE PLUS:
-amazing bass performance
-kinetic DD rumble, grunt, resonance and vibrancy
-sub and mid bass layering
-physical bass sensition
-plenty of lower mids (warm and thick)
-smooth cohesive balanced W shape
-engaging dynamic rendering
-natural and densely rich timbre
-supremely enjoyable male and female vocal (wide and thick)
-excellent tone-timbre for sax, piano, cello, contrabass, violin
-warm but not dark mids
-wide and tall holographic spatiality
-snappy EST highs
-velvelty treble
-fun, engaging yet versatile and life like musicality

THE MINUS:
-not end word in term of technical performance
-not the best bass separation and definition (lack of texture)
-a hint foggy mid range (softed definition edge, surely due to open BA design)
-not very clean treble (again open BA design)
-sub-500$ technical performance
-EST tend to pick background noise
-EST tend to stole the show of other micro details or percussions
-EST go faster and add a sens of speed that not always match slower DD and BA presentation
-the IEM sensitivity isn’t stated (and seem high)
-uncomfortable (non organic shape, heavy metal)
-absurdly expensive (non existent sound benefit)

**Shoot your must have basshead IEMs guys!

Hope this thread will give glory back to somewhat polemical soundsignature among serious yet perhaps binary tuning lover audiophiles! Boosted sens of rythmic is a valid sound experience especially for Drum&Bass, EDM, Trap rap and all big beat electronic music lover. I wont listen to classical nor folk with bass dominant IEM!
