Beautiful by design. (industrial design in Audio components)

It’s no coincidence that when you look upscale in the audiophile world, there’s a certain “expectation” that gear should be beautiful to behold, not just beautiful to listen to. The way a component looks bears a significant factor in whether I buy it or not, it’s not something that goes noticed.

I know for some, that’s not a factor, but high end audio component is the same at high end automobiles. I know a lot of the design is to influence the emotional part of us. The reality is that a rectangular silver or black box is all you need, but still if I’m spending $10,000 on a unit, it better look the part even though we all know better.

So with that, I wanted to start a thread where we can share equipment that we believe is beautiful, distinctive, looks the part. Saw this today and, had to start a thread.

I named my son after this company, I’ve always had a love for their aesthetic, this would be a lotto money setup for sure

That one turn table looks like something Doc Brown invented in Back To The Future 3…very steam punk with all those gauges but cool looking for sure. I also wonder which is that person’s daily driver, since there are two. :thinking:
